After waiting ages (and waiting for the parts to turn up in the classifieds 😀 ) to get around to it I have finally done it! Running a blackspire mono up front with a gamut bash. Only slight niggle is my rear mech shifting. It goes down no probs, but the indexing coming back up can be a bit sketchy it's a x9 mech with x7 shifters.
how come changing to 1x9 ****ed your shifting?
just sounds like you need to add a little tension to the cable, going 1x9 shouldnt affect your shifting in that way. the only problem i can see from 1x9 isi f you cant get a good chain line so it rubs the guide at the top or bottom of the range.

Tension was a smidge to slack on my rear mech. It's all good now 😀
