I am off to finale ligure for the first time end of next week.
Has anyone ridden there this year, if so which tracks are the best to ride ( hopefully ones that aren’t affected by the enduro racing this weekend), .
Any tips on which uplift company to use would be great. We are staying in finale ligure (family holiday, I am to go for a few hours ride in the mornings).

Any trails advice would be great, - I’ve seen this trail map that looks good but shows the somewhat numerous amount of trails!

Thanks
Paul

We will be arriving their on Sunday as our next stop of our trip.

We use a local guide and acording to him and his pictures the weather is changeable but the trails are in good condition.

We have been visiting the area for the last 10 years and the main trails are easily found. They go from 2 main areas.

Worth getting the Finale for You card as it can be used in the shops and bars

Enduro racing is in Pietra so on different trails but the area is vast.

Most of the uplifts and tours set off from the same place at the back of the old town

I haven't been for nine years, but I'd just add that if you're only doing a half day then apparently you can get single uplifts for about 10eur. And pedal about a bit while you're up the hill.

This is according to my pal who goes every year, when I was grumbling about the price of 70eur for a day.

Thanks for the info,
Good to know the racing is elsewhere.
I’ve seen the single uplifts, probably the best idea.

Do they need pre arranging with the companies or is it a first come first serve affair?

You will get a single uplift from Finale Borgo with no problem. Just turn up and book at one of the desks. The first uplift of the day is usually busy but then it's good.

If you are riding the main trails try and stay up high as long as possible as the slog back up are hard in the heat.

If you are riding solo it may well be a good idea to let some one know your routes just in case

I would say that if you're only planning on riding in the mornings then a single uplift and then a long #enduro stly tour back down to Finale would be best.

A days shuttle costs a lot more than it did when I first went there (two years ago I was guiding there and people were paying 80€ for a day, plus another ~15€ for lunch).

About an hour or so from Finale just over the hills in Piedmont are Viola and Mont Alpet... two really good bike parks. A day ticket is less than 25€.  Well worth it.  I'm planning on spending the next three months flitting between Mont Alpet and Finale.

I will be there tomorrow until Tuesday afternoon. 4 uplifts a day booked, it takes around 30 minutes for the uplift to reach the top, then around 45 minutes to an 1 hour to get down and back to the main uplift if you start from NATO base or DIN.

I was last there end of March and preferred Finale Express as the lift provider, as the trailer is much better if you have a very long bike, Freeride Finale use Burtec trailers and my Geometron doesn’t fit securely.

It’s epic though, whatever you ride, you’ll have a good time. Mini Champery was my favourite, but obviously no ridden all so hard to say for sure.

Thanks for the replies,
Some good ideas/tips.
The info on the other bike parks is good, I live in the southern Alpes, le sauze, so the bike parks aren’t too far away.

Slight hijack, I'm wondering if it's worth driving over to Molini for a days guiding/uplifts. I've been before a few years ago and rated it we've already been to finale before so it's a repeat trip as well.

We've been to Molini 3 times- pretty much my favourite place to ride. I prefer it to Finale- riding, location, guiding, etc. Sylvia and Luca at Atipico are the people you want to get in touch with. Great accommodation if they can fit you in as well. One of the great thinks about Molini is there are lots of trails on the hills above the village so it's a pretty short uplift. There are also some absolutely epic ones if you're happy to do some pedaling.
