Favero Assioma pedals

I was about to hit the button on a pair of Assioma pedals, but then I got cold feet as the website stipulates you may be liable for import tax?

The price is in £, so I never thought there would be a problem! None of the reviews mention import tax as a potential pitfall!

How much I am likely to get stung by?

No idea as I didn't buy mine direct BUT, just FYI, I just got an email about their Black Friday sale

Is there a UK importer?

Apparently Sigma sports are the only UK retailer, and they are £200 more than what Favero are offering on their website.

Id ask Sigma whether they are matching the Black Friday deal!

At a guess, about £100 for import duties if they haven't been paid. I thought over £130 and the duties (taxes?) weren't included.

Hover over the 'i' next to the price and it seems pretty clear to me that you'll be paying VAT and import duty on top. ie probably +30% or so once all charges are paid.

I will let you know, I gave in and bought a pair last night!

£398 for dual sided SPD style so far

Given UK pedals are £599 I'm hoping buying direct is cheaper (unless the couriers charge huge admin fees)

Update - Pedals delivered in reasonable time. £398.82 on credit card including exchange etc....

Just had the dreaded Fedex import duty/tax email  - £93.06 to pay

so total of £491.88 vs currently £599 at Sigma sports.

So it was worth buying direct on Black Friday, and even if I have to send back for warranty issues hopefully I'll still have saved.

Justifying it that the difference will just about cover the PRO -RS2 road pedal  bodies so I end up with "2" sets of power pedals for the cost of one... 🙂
