Looks like perfect weather out there. v jealous.
Mrs S loved climbing the cols round Luchon on her road bike while I had the pleasure of AQR's guiding. Wonderful part of the world.

went up from St Maria du campon
then up to the Pic du Midi then back down.
Clocked 70 kph on the way down and overtook 11 cars ๐Ÿ˜ฏ
the noise from the tyres was like a Stuka dive bomber

Bolloxed today so riding the nukeproof for a rest

Great pics. I very nearly took my fatty out to the alps for a laugh this year, only deciding not too as I would've died trying to ride it in Verbier and put others around me at risk from falling off their bikes laughing. Tight switchbacks on a fat bike might have been 'character building' ๐Ÿ˜€

Sterling effort!!

I rode my motorbike up there last year, and remember thinking how hard it would be on a push bike!

Troutie - did you go up from the Col du Tourmalet to the Col de Sencour (ruins) then up onto the Pic du Midi? and straight back to the Tourmalet?

There's some ace singletrack if you drop from Sencour then turn right down past the little lakes and down towards the ski stations at Super-Barrege (I think) and Tournaboup. We ran that way on the Grand Raid des Pyrenees and it was my favourite bit of the whole course, jogging down thinking "I wish I had a bike down this bit..."

yes we went up but did not know the name at the time
down again past the small lake and some did go to the new ski station and back up the road but I was bolloxed so picked the Tourmalet up 2 hairpins from the top
and stupidly had forgot the helmet cam for the roady ride back down ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
