With the StrathPuffer coming up, it's time to get the ice tyres sorted.

There's a new tyre available for fatbikes, the CST Tobaggon.

Does anyone know if there is a supplier in the UK?

Or will we have to get them from the USA?

Aren't they brought in by Raleigh? Also, isn't Maxxis a CST brand (to sound more exciting than Cheng Shin)?

Crikey - wired beads!

You can stud any tyre if the rubber lugs are deep enough. This year in Norway for the Fat Viking it was really icy so the organiser ordered in several boxes of studs which we then paid for according to how many we used. Spent a whole afternoon in a house of Dutch riders putting them in to my wife's tyres - there was more rubber on show than at a porn convention!

My wife has Surly Ednas and I think all studs lasted the race but then it wasn't rocky which tends to be the main reason they come out. Also if the rubber studs are siped then it's a lot easier to insert the metal studs.
