Hi

My Mk1 Joystick is on its last legs which Im more than happy with as its given me years of use

The main thing I like about it is the narrow beam pattern
Its mostly used on my helmet for commuting and I know if I stare at a car exiting a side road for example they can have no excuse about not seeing me
On the other hand the beam is narrow enough not to dazzle all comers in the opposite direction

So which to buy?

Threads on here suggest the 9 is an antisocial flood for commuting and the 7 has the old spot beam but I cant find much about the 8

The 7 and 8 are available at half the price so if anyone can fill me in Id love to hear about it

Cheers

Not sure how much help this will be..

I have just gotten a mk7 for my helmet - I commute at an average of 26kph on unlit country roads and it has a nice spot to highlight stuff in the road. I use a race maxx on the bars set on flash and feeding a rear redeye. You are right about it having enough not to blind on-coming cars unless you deliberately try.

I like it, it's a good combo. However it's replacing a Vision1 which although 240lumen was like a light sabre (and weighed 4x the mk7 joystick) and massively lit up miles in front.
