emm, why are you looking for an alternate if what you want is a Diablo. What is it about the Diablo you don't like, guessing price?
Unless you go for a torch there aren't that many MTB lights that have a built in battery (Hope r2i, Gloworm CX trail).

Lezyne Supadrive or Decadrive.

riddoc - Price is a bit of a issue, but i understand that you get what you pay for! I guess i'm just seeing what other people are running and if there is anything that competes with the Exposure.

daffy - I did look at the Lezyne stuff, but the Deca is nearly twice a heavy and the Super is a little low on out put.

if you go for the Evans ex demo route check that you get the version listed, they seem to use whatever text is on the website but whats in the box can be something different.

True, but they also have almost twice the endurance of the Diablo.

Personally, I don't understand why people buy a Diablo over the Equinox.

Because the equinox only lasts for an hour at full power...

As does the Diabolo

You could consider a Lupine Piko - lighter on the head as separate battery but not lighter on the wallet.

The diabolo is perfect for me that's why I got it. I run it 1 settings off full and only use the highest of the 3 settings on the downs. It's paired with a 3hr ay up on the bars which does the general Road lighting. Great light
