[Closed] Explosif or....?

I currently have a Kona Explosif that I use for local xc and general urban fun but am thinking about getting something that is a bit more robust. I guess what I am looking for is a street/jump bike that is also xc-able: Does such a beast exist? Or is the Explosif suitable for such antics?

Cheers folks.

Put a Dialled Alpine on your shortlist?

456 or 456 Summer Edition if you prefer slack angles

marin rocky ridge! Might not be very boutique or exciting, but they're brilliant fun, climb like goats on steroids and are brilliant on descents. If you're lucky you might even score one with floats instead of vanillas...

Hmmm. I thought they were more on the xc side of the fence. I'll have a look though.

Anyone wanna buy an Explosif? Hehehehehe

I'm not worried about "boutique" lol.

456/etc yes. The Alpine or Evil Sovereign would be more your brief though?

I got a Gary Fisher Ferrous, which is very BMX influenced, but also fine for XC (and has an ebb for SS), and they're Bright Orange, lovely frame; I was going to sell it but kept it over a Ti frame I had.

No, doesn't need to be steel. I was kinda thinking a little less coiny then that, although it is just an idea at the moment so open to any suggestions.

DMR Trailstar. Just building mine up at the moment but I bought it for exactly the same reasons you mentioned. Oh, and it was £80 frame & fork.

the GF Ferrous looks reet nice too.

My Unit's the same tubing and is plenty strong enough for anything I care to throw it at. I only weigh about 11 stone though.

Forkwise I run a RC31 for general duties, but have a choice of rigid steel and a Reba for bigger hits / jumps / urban.

You might regret it if you sell the Explosif - it's a lovely ride 🙂

Hora, thanks for the recommendation but the Dialled Bikes Alpine isn't a street/jump bike that is xc-able, it's a trail bike that can handle a bit of street/jumping.

Same applies to the Prince Albert but to a lesser extent.

Are you serious about selling the explosif? You'd have an interested party here.....size/year depending.
