[Closed] Exmoor - where to stay?

Thinking about giving Exmoor a try with the Mrs on our bikes over the long weekend. Never been there before, so where would be a good place to base ourselves for some fairly straight-forward and not-too-technical trails?

Thanks.

If you can deal with starting each day with a fairly stiff climb or a short drive, Porlock is lovely, and the campsite behind the pub is ace and bike-friendly.

Porlock will be busy & has big hills in most directions, Minehead has all types of rides from flat along the coast east to Watchet, medium in land or big west up over North hill/Selworthy beacon - larger selection of accomodation as well.
Duster is also good, has waymarked cycle trails in the woods (not very technical & only about 5 miles long) HERE to the south that can be accessed via quiet lanes.

The youth hostel about 2 miles outside Minehead is pretty good. Bit of a steep last 50 yards to drive up to it though.
