Well done to everyone that made it round. Spent all day Saturday marshalling the pro stage at the road gap and next point down. Weather was amazing in the clear at the road gap crossing but absolutely baltic in the trees 50 metres down.
Some very broken humans coming up that fire road towards the end.
Was amazing to meet and watch the top pros but my heroes of the day were the kids on hardtails at the tail end of the pack. Totally hardcore.

I know the ones. If it's the same ones, we followed them down that stage. They were great lads. Blethered a bit to them at the top. Those were the only bikes they had so they were just enjoying themselves. That's mountain biking!

Did you see the kid who raced and was now riding his bike to Leogang ? He was a Kiwi who seems to have come over for a jolly. Wyn was bemused and laughing 🙂

It appears as though Glentress Forest Lodges just let slip the details of next years race!

Put up a post on Facebook saying they'll have no availability from August 3rd to August 15th as the organisers of the Enduro World Series have booked out the site for the duration as the EWS will be held there.

Interestingly, that's when the dates for the XC & Marathon world champs.

Could we see a World Championship EWS race???

The young rippers were damn fast

Did see one young lad with a big head gash and was in a bad way on the dreaded push up to stage 4
I spoke to the medics/marshals the next day and he was fine, asking for selfies to send to his mates in the ambo, but did get balled out by his dad for not wearing his full face!

Those are the dates of UCI worlds. ESO are responsible for delivering XC and Marathon, both at GT. So same organisation but likely Forest Holiday are mixing up events/disciplines.

FF were mandatory were they not?

Great weekend, dry conditions are tough but I ended up 17th in masters so pretty chuffed.

The official feed station was pathetic, we arrived to have bathwater and nothing edible left. We were self sufficient but it was very warm on Saturday so a bit of a letdown.

Overall vibe was pretty good and the pros on Sunday inspiring to watch.

have to agree

considering the cost of entry (& camping- £30 for a tent £50 for a van- which was on a sloping field with 1 tap and 5 portaloos) it was terrible and way worse than previous years

and price had inflated considerably since last year!
