anybody ever used the Eurostar to get to the Alps with their bike

There was a thread on this the other day so maybe have a search. A friend of mine did it the other year. The big problem is getting from gare du nord to gare du lyon in Paris with all your kit. Oh and it's not very cheap either.

The transfer is OK. I did it last week, heading to the Basque Country. I wrote it up on my website with some info which might be useful. When you count the bike charges it's definitely cheaper. And I managed my transfer with 65kg of gear... it almost broke me but I did it! If you were strong you could take two bikes.
