I've got one of these:

[img] [/img]

It's old, weathered and not particularly quick as modern bikes go but on the plus side it's light, comfortable and was very cheap.
Whilst timewasting a few days ago I found the Youtube clip below which reminded me of just one of the reasons I really don't want to let it go.
(for those of you with a short attention span, the sound picks up from 18 seconds in)

Anyone know any other soundtracks for a Friday of wishful thinking?

Proper engine noise;

stood beside one in the pits at Silverstone. My ears were nearly bleeding but I couldn't stop grinning.

or this one from about 1 minute onwards;

Nice.

How did you get the Youtube video to embed?
I've just had 3 minutes of frantic editing trying to get it to work.

If you put your foot flat to the floor in the midget it makes an awesome noise, then when you brake it just pours un-burnt fuel into the now superheated exhaust manifold ๐Ÿ™‚

None of this sissy fuel injected, spark arrested, catalyticaly converted nonsense!

This thread is very great indeed!

Keeping with a hill climb theme:

... pity I can't find my vid of a Predator hillclimb special at Fintray.

I still can't get over or even describe the noise a vulcan makes on takeoff, it's so loud it just obliterates everything.
Closest I can find is:
