for this?!?

Creative artist extraordinaire Pharrell Williams brings you one of the freshest, cleanest, and most limited bikes you will ever have the chance of owning. He teams up with Domeau & Pérès, who produced his first design work, the “Perspective Chairs”, and Brooklyn Machine Works, who produced the frame and fork (made out of 4130 chromemoly seamless airplane grade steel tubing). It takes over 100 man hours to upholster the bike in water buffalo leather and all the stitching work is done by hand.

I think it's supposed to be more of a work of art rather than just a fully functioning bike. Not saying this justifies the price tag, but perhaps you might be coming at it from the wrong angle.

At least the valves and tyre logos line up. That must be worth $1000.

The detail shots show it up much better. I'd have used track wheels without a braking surface though, for an even cleaner look. I'll email them and let them know, might get a discount.

Might have used something a bit more exclusive than Thomson. Prehaps it's part of the 'art'. 🙄 (not @ fourbanger 😉 )

You wouldnt want to lean it against anything though. Scufftastic!
Are they so tight that they dont include a stand fashioned from mammoth tusk?

Well in that case, I'll just take my well earned money elsewhere.

That's quite unusual these days.

$27K???!
You could buy a car for that!
Or my Mortgage for at least a year!

Too many ****ing “Celebrity Designers” these days…

A bike manufactured for looking at is not a bike, it’s an empty display of wealth for Shallow Arses, When I come to power these individuals will be shot…

That's a very good point. They don't know much about bikes

]Mr Williams has managed to illustrate the lowest paradigm, the idea that the Hippity Hop is by default synonymous with Brash, self absorbed displays of Money…

I’d have expected more of him really, He basically bought into BMW so he could produce an overpriced Bling bike (Very original), and claim some sort of “Roots Connection” for it all, or dress it up as “Art” and “Design”… Cobblers it’s an expensive upholstered fixie for Yuppie tossers to buy.

It’s basically a marginally more subtle version of this:
[img] [/img]

Still he’s not as bad as that Pish Diddly, apparently he just Drives round New York in a Maybach fuelled by slave Children’s tears (Apparently not too dissimilar to having an LPG conversion done), wearing a crown and a suit made of Diamonds, stroking a suitcase stuffed with cash and Nazi Gold, stopping every once in a while to point and laugh at homeless people or Dead animals… No really!

/Friday rant…

Pharrell Williams of N*E*R*D fame? That's random! I quite like it as an object, it's 'value' obviously isn't as a bike!

I think he's been involved with BMW from the start, so not that random.
Looks a lot better in close up doesn't it?!

I continue to be astounded at the inanity of the idle rich. I've seldom seen anything quite so pointless.

Nah bought into them a couple of years ago, I remembe an "Article" in Dirt with pictures of him suitably posed on one of their BMXes (BMX was a bit cooler that week you see)...

Anyway fast-forwards to 2011 and his Investment comes to fruition a stupid unridable piece of [s]Arse[/s] Art...

1st:
I have studied fine art for the last 10 years, and this is by far the worst example of modern art I've ever seen. I've seen paintings by some fantastic contempory artists go for less and I can vouch for more hours going into the paintings than this upholstered peice of scrap metal.
2nd:
From the view of a cyclist...ROTFL!!!! I can't wait to see what kind of Putz buys this thing! 🙄

Surely copter tape would be just as effective frame protection?
