To all you endurance racer/coaches please can you help? I competed in a couple of 6-12 hr events last year and am thinking of doing a lot more next season. I used to be a 100m sprinter 10.98 secs, so some training schedules are known to me but endurance stuff? I`m now a poor college tech so money is tight and any free advice would be truely valueable & i would be very greatfull. Even websites so i can use a known training method would be helpfull. Thanks.
Some simple stuff at merida marathons site.
ta i`ll try that
Joe Friel, The Mountain Biker's Training Bible, £10.31 on amazon, or get your local library to order it in for you, then keep renewing it.
Or buy my barely looked at copy for £8 posted.
There's nothing revolutionary in Joe Friel, it's all about periodisation, breaking your year down into 4 week periods, gradually increasing load within each period with a rest week in the final week.
What are you looking to do? Get faster over the longer distance, or improve endurance so you can ride for longer?
Getting faster over a longer distance?
i have this book. it is very good. but i ignored it all!!
