Just tried the Stealth on at the LBS - the large will only take a base layer under it but is otherwise fine, the XL will take a couple of layers and fits close enough with a bit more of a roomier feel. Question is, even in, say, last years winter temperatures, will I need more than one layer or is the Stealth "that" warm? Comments please.
i was asking about this very jacket yesterday http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/endura-stealth-jacketsworth-buying-one by the sounds of it,they seem to be very warm. ๐
according to endura it is to be worn ONLY with a base layer under it
I wear a merino base layer under mine. keeps me warm but i get real hot when out and about.
just back in from a very cold and windy 25 mile road ride with mine on. Temp at start and finish was 2.5 deg, but on the tops it was close to freezing with snow on the ground. 25 mph wind with horizontal sleet and snow.
had DHB bib longs, a Helly lifa-warm baselayer and Stealth which was just about right. Had i been mtb'ing I would have been a bit too warm
I loved my Endura Stealth before I lost it ๐
I wore mine in winter with just a merino base layer underneath and it was toasty.
I've replaced it with a Gore Path Shell, which I wear with a jersey and baselayer. I now prefer the versatility of more layers to control temperature.
