Anyone use one of these - either with, or sans hood?

How durable/comfy/weatherproof/sweaty are they - I'm a sweaty so and so!

Look ace, but sadly very sweaty ๐Ÿ™

I now use a hooded Gore Alp-X 2.0 which is excellent, also looks good on & off the bike.

Cheers adp79 - I'll look up the Gore.

Currently use an Endura Stealth, but looking for something a little cooler and less bikey for the impending 6 months of misery.

I've had one for a couple of years & I'm really happy with mine.

Well open the zips 8)

A good balance between useful features & functionality. I'd buy another one. The pit zips are massive & If you're a sweaty oik, keep the zips open. No jacket is ever going to be able to transport massive amounts of moisture to the outside regardless of what it's made of. The elasticated cuffs are also removable which helps increase the airflow up the sleeves if required.

A no brainer for the hundred quid mine cost.

D.

I've had a hooded one for a couple of years.
I really rate it, it's got loads if vent zips etc so I use it as a 3 season jacket.
Endura warranty is second to none too.

Great jacket, just not for summer!

As mentioned, plenty of zips so easy to regulate temp.

Have the hooded version which can be annoying at times though as the wind blows through the venting.

I had one and didn't get on with it. Just bought an Endura Windchill for when it's too warm for my Stealth. Not tried it yey but looks and feels good.

I found the fabric quite heavy, but not very windproof (this was probs a 2011 one, so don't know if different now). For me I was warm when going slow and cold on descents etc. The Windchill is I think a lighter weight jacket, but with windproof front, which should sort the issues I had with the MT500

I have MT500 3/4 shorts, they are good, semi waterproof. I'm not sure how the construction compares with the jacket but the material isn't breathable so they might be a bit hot. As per @iniac above I have a windchill which is excellent, it's "shower proof" and might be a bit warm if you're sweaty eecially in autumn and spring. It was also great value at half the price of the more sophisticated breathable jackets.

If you're prone to being sweaty how about long sleeved top and a gillet to keep you core dry, I suppose it depends on how exposed your riding is and the risk of getting very cold if wet. Personally on the worst days I ride in the woods under tree cover.
