Can anyone recommend a good, small, lightweight rain jacket, ideally something that can fold down into a small bag so I can keep it in my pack for the daily commute - at the moment the weather seems to be sunny in the evening, and rain on the way home.

Keep getting soaked.

Decathlon/B'Twin do a couple of cheapies (c. £10). No doubt they're not as breathable/waterproof as top-notch stuff, but I was looking at their range the other day and I reckon it's excellent as emergency kit. I'm going to get one to keep in the workbag.

Altura pocket rocket has been a good buy. Small enough to stash in a back pocket of a roadie jersey. Does pretty well in a heavy shower too.

How cheap do you want?

Get a bin bag and cut a hole for your head, and two holes for your arms.
