[#2904680]

Over tightened the bolt on the rear shock top axle last night and broke the head off the bolt - so need a new axle - but looked on the internet and can't find one for sale anywhere. We are too remote to have a LBS so really need to get hold of one through an online bike shop. Does anyone know the best/quickest place I can get one? - The bikes a 2010 Commencal Supreme (Mini DH) - I've also got a Meta and the axle looks similar/the same?
Cheers Glenn

I've just checked back through my email folder but cannot find the company I dealt with (I remember they're from Ireland) Have an ask on the Commencal owners forum the guy who administrates it is the owner of the shop.

I'm fairly sure if you dig deep enough in to the Commencal website they've got everything. I got some if those funny shielded washers for my DH.

Hi, Thanks for the help/replies - had a look at Commencal Website but can't see anything there?
Have emailed Realcycles and I'll try calling them a bit later.
Thanks again
Glenn

I did the same on my Supreme DH and replaced with an M8 hex set and nut, think you need one ~40mm long, (basically 22mm bush width + frame support widths x2 + nut thickness). A far cheaper and stronger solution that the stoopid bolts they use ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is what you need if you want to buy the propper parts;-

You can only buy a complete pivot kit, not individual ones.

Spoke to Realcycles - they were very helpful and have ordered replacement from them.
Thanks all
and 100mphplus - did we make you an offer (too low!) on your Supreme DH recently! - Ended up with a Mini DH probably better fit for son at the moment anyway - its been well used tho and needing a bit of work ... now including a new shock axle :-O

Probably, I had about 30 offers lower than asking and ended up with about 10 people in a dutch auction for it 8)

Hmm, why don't you get some molgrips on it to try to extract the bolt? Once the tension is off it, it should come out fairly easily, as long as the bolt didn't snap flush to the end of the axle.
