what electric mini tyre pumps are people using, and is there any feedback you can share re long-term reliability etc?

My mini pump is a bit tired and I’m planning to replace with an electric one. The Cycplus AS2 Ultra seems the high-end choice, and has a 2 year warranty but it’s quite expensive

Others eg the Flextail are half the price and give or take a few mm, presumably do the same thing in the same way

could anyone share any long-term reports on any of the models? I dont mind paying more for something that lasts but likewise I don’t want to just pay double the price for better marketing

My gf got me one from Temu for £16. Looks like this one from AliExpress (which is £20):

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007563915160.html

I've only used it for two tyres so reliability is an unknown, but it inflated those slowly and loudly, which I think they all do.

I can't comment on the Cycplus or Flextail models, but the Muc-Off one certainly looks like they've just slapped their pink tax on something from China. Same with their £120 dust blower, which IS a £15 AliEx special with pink bits (I have one that's almost identical).

Bought a TB2PRO pump from aliexpress a few weeks ago for my mates new e-bike, seems to work well and easy to use, quite noisy but it seems they are all similar.

Pretty much every electric mini pump design sold by the industry in this country can be found on aliexpress without the manufacturers stickers

I've got a Topeak one which works fine (although as with all of them it's noisy and not especially fast). It was on some Black Friday / Christmas sale thing somewhere.

The product "designers" and account managers at Muc-Off clearly do🤑

I’ve got an ‘Airbank’ Aliexpress special. No gauge but small enough to not notice in a pocket. So much so it went through the wash on Sunday after a slopfest on the bike. Still works fine, just used it to pressurise my tubeless inflator.

Also have a larger one for car tyre duty with a reasonably accurate gauge. Way more accurate than our foot pump.

There was a really good thread on this last autumn. I bought the CycPlus AS2 on the back of it.

I have a Coospo one, got me out of trouble recently when a valve was leaking, first time I'd actually used it, seemed to have held it's charge for a good while.

As @nickingsley says above, this link takes you to a quite in depth discussion!

Mine is also the Truflo, it converted a cynic (me) at a sensible price. Pumps my fatbike tyres up for road sections, lovely.

I’ve had the Cycplus AS2 pro since Nov 24.

Not used the track pump since! (Well ok used the track pump to seat tubeless mtb tyres but that’s it)

Used routinely weekly to keep pressures spot on

i chose it over others as doesn’t have very protruding valves like many of the others do which is handy shoving in a saddle bag or jersey pocket

Got the topeak one for Christmas so early days and not used it in anger on the trail. In the garage it’s inflated 4 tyres from flat off a single charge and the pressure gauge reads the same as their standalone pressure gauge which is at least consistent.

I bought one of the small Silca ones when they were first released. Tiny and easy to use. I've used it a fair bit over the last year or so. It's smaller than 2x CO2 cannisters. I would only consider carrying an old-school pump if undertaking a long and remote tour.

I picked up an Aliexpress one for about £20 and I'm impressed. Not sure about longevity with the seals and motor, but I'll get my money's worth out of it.

Escape collective have an overly in depth review of a load of them. That's worth a read if you want an informed decision.

They don't go full AliExpress special, but in a couple of cases do see performance differences between pumps that look identical (the example I recall is muc off looking identical to rock bros, but having better battery life). Combined with the risks of cheap batteries (see

and AliExpress headlight charging fires), I would stick to a decent brand!

For what it's worth, I got my mum a muc off one (mainly because she loves pink) and she loves it (though possible just because it's pink).

I've just bought the Truflo as a smaller alternative to my Cycplus - had a Tredz code for £25 off over £250 and I was buying a helmet for £249.99, so basically the pump cost me £18 according to my man maths.

Not tried it yet, but looks well made and I like that it has a little torch on it

I have a Rockbros one and it was the perfect for this weekend's ride where I had a slow puncture that wouldn't have lasted the day but the pump got my tyre back up to pressure two or three times with minimum faff/wait for me or my riding buddies. I could have out a tube in but this way I got home and could then leave the hole at the bottom for the goop to work its magic.

Lidls stuff is very good.

sun 29th sees their new cycle gear (inc. tyre inflator @£12.99).

worth a visit, just for their multi tool alone 👍
