btw none of them wearing helmets and without exception they're all now dead. Coincidence? I think not

I can recall my grandfather riding on the handlebars of a bike, facing backwards.

He'd have been getting on a bit when I was a lad, so he was on the road when he showed me, but apparently he was well known for doing it on the [narrow] top of the sea-wall near his house too, for added danger.

I'm even thinking I may even have (inherited) a picture of him doing that somewhere, I'll have a rummage.
