[#10582993]

Has anyone got any inside information on this / heard any meaningful rumours about it opening?

I’ve liked the FB page and subscribed to the website but no updates so far.
Hoping to do 3 days / 2 nights away August / Sep time - with 1 uplift day and a couple of bigger pedally days.

If this isn’t open it’s either BMCC or BPW on the way to North Wales or Antur / Revs in North Wales.

The latter 2 are at the hard end of the extreme though and Revs especially might be too much for us as I’m up for small doubles / tabletops and drops a few feet high but not bonkers stuff.

I'm sure Dan Atherton hinted middle of the year in his recent interview.

I’m no shredder and I found Antur Stiniog not too bad actually - also I think there’s a couple more intermediate trails going in over the summer I believe.

I asked at the London Bike Show and was told the intention is to open to the public and if you have a group of a dozen or so give Dan a call and you may be able to sort something now. Individual book/turn up and ride, no dates were forthcoming but maybe sometime soon. I nabbed myself a sticker so I can pretend I’ve been😀

I’d anticipate Dyfi Bike Park being at the WTF end of the scale. I think the phrase used was centre of excellence for teams to test and train. I smiled and nodded whilst thinking maybe I’ll stick with BPW😀

Antur would be fine, yeah it's rocky but a reasonable number of the trails are fine for most people.
revo is def on the upper end of the scale though. Would expect a said above that dyfi would be comparable with some of the more interesting stuff at revo, so probably won't go there for a while

I agree with Rubber_Buccaneer. I don't think Dyfi will be the place for you if you're put off by Revs/Antur.

Quote from Dan Atherton in a recent interview; "The bike park is all ready to go, it will be a similar business model to Rev's, focus on higher end riders to start with because that is where we have come from and basing it off that racing heritage."

Maybe let’s rule that out then!

I’ve had the best day ever on a
Mountain bike at BMCC - the place is just epic. I didn’t go down Bomper or Full Moto but did everything that didn’t
Require enormous gaps to be cleared.

Really tempted to go there but then it’s slow roads to North Wales I think.
Antur works better from a geography front for Snowdon and CyB.

I’m not too worried about Antur - I’m on a 170/160 travel enduro bike with 30mm Dt Swiss rims / Codes / Lyrik etc. Might just need to swap out the Exo rear tyre for something a little more robust but then I’ve never ripped / damaged a tubeless tyre to date.

My mate is a bit more hesitant on Antur as he’s on a 140/134mm bike with 32mm revelations up front and wtb i23 rims (koms maybe) and still running tubes.
