Anyone else running a DVO Topaz on their bike? If so what is your experience with them?

I've had a terrible time with mine since I've had it, had it replaced not long after I got it and recently thought it was broken again only for the distributor here (Norway) to say it just needed a service. Having it back from a service it now feels terrible on small bump sensitivity and recommended pressure settings for my weight are way too stiff. The rebound also seems to super slow even on the fastest setting.

I run it on a 155mm Starling Swoop which is a single pivot steel bike.

Anyone else experienced the same and got any suggestions on improving it/adjustments I could make?

I had the topaz on my swoop, and it felt pretty good to be honest. I was running damping on minimum / fastest settings, with no volume spacers, the bottom out chamber (not sure if this is what they call it, but I mean the piggy back bit) at about 180psi and sag set at 25%. For reference I am 60kg.

The end part of the rebound stroke was a little bit slow, but reading up on it I think this is intentional to prevent top out; certainly the middle part of the rebound was pretty quick.

It was very sensitive, not quite coil like (I'm now running a cane creek inline coil) but significantly better than a monarch I had previously. I didn't follow any guidance on recommended pressure for my weight, I simply started with sag at 30%, with bottom out chamber at the minimum (170psi) and played around a bit until it wasn't bottoming out too much. I have ended up at 25% sag and 180psi in the bottom out chamber; bear in mind changing this has an effect on the whole stroke feel.

Damping was about right when on the minimum settings, and I didn't find a big difference using the climb mode.

Overall I thought it was a good shock, if I had planned to keep using air then I would have been happy to keep using it. As it is, I reckon a coil on these bikes feels amazing...
