[#3724514]

I need to replace a DT freehub on a 240S hub, and this is what I've got...

But the old one looked like this...

The main difference being the new one has a cover over the bearing, and this fouls the end cap (pictured in the second, er, picture).

Have I got the wrong part? (the part number on the pack is correct). Can I get this cover off? I'm a bit stuck!

You need a new cover (can't remember the proper term). I had the same thing happen servicing DT Swiss Onyx, seems they have changed the freehub design over the years.

A new end cap? (the small part in the second pic)

Top pic is the new part, I've seen loads of these listed as supplied with end caps- maybe I'm missing a new cap that should be in the pack.

Found this aswell (on onyx also). Just take the rubber bearing shield off!Or buy a new end cap (without the tophat bit).

Yes they changed the end cap design, if you've got the integrated dust cover you can pick the one of the newer design freehub body.
