I have a reverb and a Trans X both 100 mm travel but that’s a little too high for me. Is there a way to restrict either to 75 or 80 anyone know ?

If you are only wanting to limit the travel, not the overall length, clamp a reflector or something similar around the inner post. If the post is too long, you may be able to make an internal shim, depending on the post. There are previous threads about doing this, I don't think it applies to Reverbs.

Didn't Reverbs used to come with a clamp that would do this?

They used to (may still do, I don't know) include a collar with Reverbs. The Enduro collar I believe it was called.

In all honesty, I don't know what the purpose of the collar was but, as I understand it, it was used to restrict movement in some way or another.

As a shonky bodge you can put a bit of cord from the seat rails to the frame. That will limit how high it can come up. Should be possible to put an internal spacer in the trans X. Not sure about the reverb.

Do you mean there is too much drop, and you want to restrict how far it goes down?

Or its in the bike as far as it will go and the top out position is higher than pedalling position?

If the former, I have one of those collars you can have for postage.

If the latter, cord/zip tie as a bodge, but more importantly, what frame is it that won't fit a 100mm drop, so I can be sure to never buy one?

I think the OP is after restricting the overall hieght of the post as its too long. Not restricting how much it drops.

This is a problem for us shorter riders who need shorter seat posts or have small frames that won't accommodate a dropper post.

It would need some kind of internal shim. But probably quite complicated on a reverb. Simple solution is a piece of string from the seat rail to frame to stop the post fully extending.

I've seen it done with a zip tie from seat post clamp on the frame to the saddle rails. Heath Robinson, but works!

Cheers guys, really appreciate your advice.Sounds like the Trans x might be easier to restrict. The string/zip tie could be a solution though
