I'm perfectly happy with Brand X on 2 bikes and a reliable Reverb on Mrs B's.

My good friend needs a 30.9 diameter for his current build.

Is current STW thinking still a Brand X for cost and reliability benefits?

It would have to carry a gentleman of 100kg plus potentially a loaded back-pack. Anyone any issues with posts dropping due to weight on them?

Thanks in advance.

That's close to my weight. The only posts I've had real issues with are 27.2.

Snapped one of those Red neck droppers and another mechanical cheapo dropper snapped at one of the pin holes.

I cracked an xfusion Hilo, although I have repaired it and it lives on my singlespeed.

I have a 30.9 KS supernatural on another bike. I've had to reset the Ifp a couple of times the same as you do a Reverb.
Got 2 Reverbs that need the IFP resetting maybe around the time they need a service anyway, aside from that they're fine.

at 115kgs my reverbs have taken a pounding. Never had one drop through weight tho'.
They all got the dreaded saggy/droppy thing way before they broke.

2 x Reverbs have been fine for me. I'm 100kgs. Old Tmars was great as well.

Reverbs are nicer but Brand X also work but I hate their trigger, and yes, I have a fuller figure and may not be the most delicate of riders and neither have let me down.

I only replaced the Reverb when I crashed and ripped the hose out of the seat post end along with most of the bit it was attached too. Went to Brand X on price and apart from the trigger haven't noticed a difference.

The BX lever is ok tbh, but fit a Bonty mk2 lever (this one) or a ZTTO one if you are so inclined.

The Bonty one is bloody lovely and matchmaker /iSpecII compatible out of the box.

Definitely over 100kg and my 210mm one up has been fine so far.

Thomson Elite Covert: I was around 115kg, not including kit and backpack, when I had one of these on a previous bike. Absolutely bombproof. Not cheap though.

I reckon it can be as much the frame/dropper torque combo.
I'm not heavy at all but some fancy frames with internal clamps even my 75kg can struggle to get the torque high enough to stop it moving in the frame whilst not affecting the dropper.
