Someone's put a lot of work into reinstating Dowies 1 and 2, which only a month ago were completly clogged up after timber felling. Rode them this morning and was really impressed - well done guys. Dowies 1 in particular seems to flow even better than it used to!

It's ok. Dowies was a bit muddy yesterday (sunday) - but it's been worse!

Just rode it today and Dowie himself was there this afternoon with a shovel.. I agree, Dowies 1 was loads more fun than I remember, it has been a while since I've ridden it though.

Trails were ok.. the mud wasn't too bad

Just seen my first water buffalo of the summer. Wallowing in the stream at the very bottom of the Dowies series. it won't get any better.

Not to bad down there mind i left at 2pm and the heavens opened.Did Dowies 2 it needs bedding in again.Has said above alot of work done clearing it.I saw MR Dowie doing something on Dowies 1.Said hello but was starting 2,is 1 alot better now? not done it for years always do 2,had 2 goes today.Murrocks was fine other than getting up on the knoll the rest great not been hammered like the Dowies.Looks like the big foot trail is messed up at present. The downhill runs are pretty good still, few puddles at the start of some of the jumps.Remember racing MR Dowie down the Dowies that was years ago.

Hi Obsura Sky thats the one.Last year they started making another one, looked like it had been deturffed where they had scraped the moss away to make the trail.Comes out onto the fireroad up from Dowies.

Dowie was out rebuilding his original trail almost before they'd finished the felling! I'm gonna be a pedant now; as far as I'm aware, Dowies 2 is on the other side of the fireroad (starts more or less opposite where the bigfoot trail finishes) and sometimes gets very wet in the bottoms. The 2nd trail that starts in much the same place as Dowies 1 often gets referred to as Dowies 2 but I don't know if its adopted a proper name. Early on it was sometimes called the Skull trail.

I've heard the bottom (muddy) trail refered to as 'son of Dowies' before now. And I think there's quite a few who call Murdocks the Motorcycle Trail too. It would be good to have some consensus though.

I always call the trail over from Dowies with the little bomb holes SON of Dowies fills up well with water.Dowies 2 as i call it the one with the jumps in some locals call it Dowies X.Motobike trail/murrdocks.Once had a talk down there with a old mate for 10mins talking about the same trails two different names. We got there in the end nightmare 😆
