Thinking of going d&b on my bike and was wondering if a shimano slx 36 tooth chainring is compatable with truvativ cranks.They are both 4 arm, 104 bcd configaration so I'm thinking that everything should be hunky dory or am I missing something ?. Also if I put a bash ring on will I have to get longer chainring bolts aswell ?.

chainring will be fine.
depends on the bash some have special bolts - mostly thick plastic ones.

Should be compatible, but now and then, shimano rings can have a slightly odd fit that might need a bit of grinding to fit - they sometimes have a slight curve to the bit where spider meets ring.
("Where Spider Meets Ring" is going to be the title of my horror novel)
