The Study only deals with short distances is it really relatable in any way to behaviour for longer trips?
Quite a good point. Now I've read the study more carefully it seems that it focuses on urban/utility cycling and uses some broad assumptions about the Metabolic Equivalent Task minutes. I think it's a really interesting study doing a good job with the data available, but I don't think it's sensible to extrapolate its findings to sport/leisure cycling.
I am dubious about the value of surveys that offer prizes for more responses. The inducement can lead to respondents inventing results just to get another entry in. (Of course this applies to both assisted and non-assisted results.)
To be quite honest the question is wrong. Perhaps it should be Do you enjoy riding an ebike more than a bike?
If thats the way you want to ride than I hope you enjoy it.
