11% biggerer. 112mm x 111mm to be precise. The Vault Max is DMR’s first ever UK made pedal.
Wish I'd have known about these 3 weeks ago before I bought some Hope f22's, used to be a big DMR v8/12 fanboy, infact had them on every bike I owned from 2003-2016. Started using a thinner profile pedal after that due to getting sick of pedal strikes but shorter cranks now have put them back on the radar for me. I do love DMR kit.
Same here: All my flats are V8s, they just work.
If I had not gone to SPDs for the Stumpy, I'd be tempted by these; my size 13s always like a bit more area to sit on.
Crikey, they are not cheap!
I rode DMRs for years back in the day, really like their pedals but no way could I see myself stretching to £170 for something that's going to get bashed about.
The grey ones do look lovely though....
They look nice and I was always a big DMR fan back in the day too (V12 Mags were my favourite), but I just can't justify the price of metal pedals these days.
If they want to sell pedals for that price they shouldn't have made the plastic ones so good.
I used Vaults for over 10 years but I've slowly migrated to plastic on 4 bikes. They're a fraction of the price and work just as well.
I like the feel of my Vaults - got 2x pairs - and have always wanted a slightly wider platform - I overpronate.
However, the sealing and bearing ware is really annoying - I have never got used to them developing that Click-Click-Click after what seems a very short period of time.
My V11s are the same.
I've got the tools and a big stack of bearings and bushings, so will keep them going forever... but if I wasn't already on the treadmill I wouldn't step on.
I put cheap plastic pedals on my most recent acquisition - generic Rockbros - and even they have a better bearing feel than the DMRs.
If they want to sell pedals for that price they shouldn't have made the plastic ones so good.
This, for real- Nukeproof discontinued their best selling pedal because its closest competitor was the 4 times more expensive fancy version, and they'd made the plastic one so good everyone bought those instead
I love my Vaults and a slightly bigger platform sounds great, but for me to pay a 3 figure price for them they need to do something about the sealing.
I stopped buying vaults when my last set of them developed the rattle after 3 weeks. I contacted them as I felt even by their standards 3 weeks was bad (my other sets normally lasted at least a few months), they just came back with "it's a wear and tear item, here's a link to the service kit you need for £30". I binned them for a set of Nukeproof Horizon Sam Hills which are still going strong today after around 6 years of use with zero issues.
I love a Vault, but the internals aren't the greatest. Couldn't begin to contemplate a £170 version with the same mechanicals.

Have the Sam Hill DH on three of my bikes - £70 👍
I’ll stick with my Burgtec Penthouse Flats. My Mk1s are still spinning on the jump bike and the MK5s are just lovely on the big bike. I might even try the bigger B-Rage ones on the big bike.
I'm on my second set of V12 and finally bought their extravagantly expensive pull/push tool, as e rattle was getting too annoying to ignore and the bushing kit from ebay was slightly cheaper than a whole new pedal set. With plastic pedals for £20, metal under £40, and regularly smashing the pins off, I can't imagine anyone who pedals outside perfectly graduate bike parks is considering pedals that this price?
