I suspect that I already know the answer to this one but just thought I'd see if anyone has any bright ideas before I start the job.
I converted a pair of ordinary wheels to DIY tubeless about a year ago - using the popular 'ghetto' small inner tube with removable valve cut to size technique. Its worked well and I haven't had a puncture since (but you do need to top up the latex regularly) but I'd now like to change my tyres.
Is there any clever way to reuse the DIY rim strip ? or is it just a question of repeat it all over again ? And in a similar vein is there any clever way of taking off the existing tyres and converted inner tubes in a way that I could put them back on in the future ?
Any suggestions welcome.
Cheers,
Ti_Tim
do it again

Goog that's what I'd have thought but just on the off chance someone had tried it already and come up with a clever solution I thought I'd ask. If anyone had managed it I was sure it would be an STW'er !
New wheels?
Super Ghetto - in here somewhere:STW Thread Link
Thats old hat - use gaffer tape.
One wrap round the rim with a 5 spoke hole over lap, slot valve in, one more bit of tape over valve 2.5 valve holes each side, fit tyre, pour in sealant, inflate, go ride ๐
Gaffer tape it is then - thanks sw, Steve_b77 - saves the price of a couple of new tubes - bargain !
2nd the gaffa tape method, miles better
reuse that rim strip you made with the 20" tube. it works! just redone mine, on a different rim as well. waste not want not and all that!!
