Does anyone know if anyone makes or made, disc mounts for the old RC30 (steel) forks?
are these the ones where the tubes all bolt together?
they're not really designed for the loads that disk brakes would put on them so close to the dropouts are they?
Don't know,'m sure I've seen a disc brake mounted on some. Mine are the chrome plated ones, if that helps.
There was a guy that got custom legs made for an old set of RC30's with disc mounts or something along those lines. I think I saw this on retrobike.co.uk but can't be 100% sure. Sorry not massively helpful.
I have an inkling that such a thing existed but retrobike.co.uk users will tell you one way or the other.
I think there was an RC30 that used the wider Rc36 crown & offset drop outs, it might have been a trials fork. I think the normal RC30 leg spacing is too narrow for discs.
