On my MTB I have 1x Shimano M8000, with the clutch on shifts are clunky and need lots of thumb pressure, clutch off and its silky smooth and I haven't dropped a chain yet. So I leave it off.
On my 1x "adventure road" bike, I have Sram Apex 1 rear mech with a clutch. The shifts are clunky
These don't have a lever to disable.
When pedalling the bike on the work stand theres loooooads of resistance. If I use my hand to just negate the clutch a bit and help the rear mech forwards slightly, thats resistance disappears.
Is there a way of reducing the effect of the clutch on the Apex 1 mech? my MTB experience leads me to think I won't be dropping chains on the road.
