what are the ups like? i enjoy a climb but things might be a little different from my normlal set up.
also read that a few of the better/gnarlyerish tracks are missed out are the others still decent?
looking forward to next weekend!!
cheers
I did this ride a couple of years ago. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but the route does an very good job of managing to miss any of the built trails in SH. Again on North downs. Shame, but it is actually a nice xc ride. I can't remember too much about the trails it used and the hills. I do remember one maybe two nasty climbs going straight up north downs!
Enjoy. There's a beer at the end 😁
I also did this a few years ago.
None of the ‘purpose built’ trails appear on it, they are all public rights of way but some of the bridleway are obviously rarely used and as a result are actually quite good fun in a gullied, narrow kinda way.
It is a nice ride and it’s good to see what is out there apart from the usual trails, I now use some parts of the route to link things together instead of the usual fire road stuff.
When I did it there were a couple of absolutely brutal climbs but otherwise it was typical of the area.
Cheers for the replies. Looking forward to it either way 👍 although just converted from 11sp to 32/16 single so those climbs mentioned should be a good test...
It's on my list of places to explore after the event so should help me out when Im in search for the downs.

I use these rides to get an idea of the place, then often go back for further exploring.
