First time I've bought a direct sale bike and it's cutting it fine for a trip to Glentress this weekend.

Bought a meta am 29 Saturday 22nd June from CRC, still waiting for the tracking number to becone active, CRC say it was dispatched on Saturday 29th.

Going to Glentress for the trail days festival leaving early doors Thursday, hoping it arrives by Wednesday. Doubt it will!

Now I can see the downsides to a direct sales bikes, should have gone bricks and mortar.

Still have my Reign Advanced though so would be be a complete disaster if it didn't turn up on time.

erm, that’s not direct sales. Direct sales is buying from Commencal, you’ve just bought from a shop but with none of benefits

I think it will probably arrive on time. Couriers don't work weekends unless you pay extra for it.

As for direct sales, my Bird arrived exactly when they said it would, beautifully built and the service has been perfect.

Erm, yes I benefited. Saved £150 over commencal prices due to euro exchange.

Should have put more thought into the bird! Lovely bikes.

If you had bought from a bricks and mortar shop, you would only be ok if they had had your size in stock, otherwise you would have been waiting for the shop to order it, the importer to send it, the shop to assemble it etc, so no guarantee you would have got it either.

Can't go back in time, but either way you would have been better off ordering it earlier.

FTFY, shops don’t hold stock any more

Bike shops seem to hold stock of the most unsellable* junk that they can get their hands on. 😂

I was driving over to the east of England a few weeks ago and stopped to grab some food at a shopping village type place somewhere near Peterborough. There was a large bike shop there, with a really big stock of full-sus Treks. I’m not sure who would be buying them in a complete desert of decent MTBing...

*not a word? Should be, if not. 😁

If it doesn't turn up just make use of the demo bikes.

I’ve bought direct, won’t be doing it again. Bought from Canyon, just a few niggles on the bike that a LBS would have fixed. Or someone more proficient than me with spanners.
Delivery was pretty good to be honest as was the communication, mine was an in stock item.
I also bought my full sus Trek from a midlands bike shop. Luckily here in the Midlands they’ve invented roads that take us to far flung exotic places like Wolverhampton. 😉
