They havent released anything new for what seems like ages. A few years ago they seemed to be the "go to" brand if you wanted a decent hardtail. I had an Alpine and it was awesome.
Cotic and On One seem to be bring out new frames left right and centre, whilst Dialled are probably just ticking along.
Anyone know if they have anything in the pipeline?
Ti Alpine?
Tbh the recent explosion of Cotics seems more like a fear of missing a bandwagon than anything else.
I guess they haven't jumped on the carbon, 29'er, cx or lets make a road bike shaped thingy yet, so aren't talked about on here that much at the minute. Which in turn means Mike hasn't got that much need to be on here either, which is a shame as he always seemed a sound chap. Last time I saw him, folk were getting stuck into him about the ti-alpine being a rip off of some Brodie in the usual stw manner.
BMX?
Mmmmmm Ti Alpine !!
Just released a load of new bmx's
Its a collaboration between them and the Staystrong charity.
Coz the PA is all you need ๐
i was windering the same as the OP the other day...
seems like there is a lot of spunking going on over cotic at the moment. nice bikes, but they just seem to be jumoing on the 29er "bandwagon".
but isn't dialled bikes more interested in BMX and 4X?
My Alpine is one of my fav's bikes I've owned. That's good enough for me.
as far as im aware, Dialled bikes are still going strong. they have put more effort/time in to the BMX/4X scene.
ti-alpine??? im sure if there was enough interest that could be some thing they could look into.
Can't see why a small brand shouldn't just keep doing what it does when it does it well. I have a first generation Alpine which I love and would only change if the Ti one ever appeared (and I had some spare cash!!). Dialled have a pretty good range of bikes and they run a team; all of which seems quite enough IMHO.
All this bandwagon talk is a bit weird really. These are bike companies. They make money out of selling bikes that people want to buy, but if they make a new product to extend their market and sell more bikes, or respond to customer demand they're selling out and jumping on a bandwagon. There's a right load of arse hats on this forum sometime.
u iz arsehat.
Still got my fantastic Morning Glory, if Mike did another Ti, I'd be tempted to retire the MG!
if it aint broke, dont fix it
love/hate for the SSrs
PA for an allround hardtail
Alpine for a hardcore hardtail
Holeshot for the 4X racers
what else do you need, most are ony MkII because they were so close to perfect first time round
Ditto, still love my Morning Glory oh and my Love/Hate
Just been out to Swinley on my Alpine today, rode with Ed who was on his SS Alpine. Their bikes are darnn good and don't need changing just to keep in with fashion. A ti alpine may be a nice luxury but the steel rides fine. I just think it depends what your mates are riding. If its super light bikes then maybe go for ti. However one of the big appeal factors for me in the steel alpine is its massive strength and reasonable price. Given all that , you can afford to do what you like on it.

๐ sorry, didn't mean to be abusive. Got carried away.
Seems a fair point to me, and dialled are sticking to their core business rather than jumping on the latest things. There is nothing wrong with that, it must be working for them, other bike companies respond to the changes, nothing wrong with that either; why get titty lip about it.
PA MKI here

+1
Ti Alpine but it wouldn't be cheap would it.
Plus its a big outlay for the initial stock investment.
(mkI Alpine here)
i'm not sure that an Alpine would benefit massively from a Ti tube set.
the tubes would have to be much beefier than what you find on most Ti frames if it were to be as rugged as the current Alpine. i don't think you would benefit from the springy-ness or the light weight asmuch as you (would like to) think.
and i'm not sure Ti would stand up to the same amount of abuse i give my Alpine. lots of broken Ti frames on here recently and i doubt many of them are being ridden as hard as you can ride an Alpine. i remember mike saying that he has only ever had one or two frames returned due to breakages....
i guess running a successful BMX/4X team must take up a fair bit of time.
if the products are sorted then they are unlikely to need changing radically, looks like dialled have a long test/prototype peroid and don't just throw products on the market for [s]doe-eyed beta testers[/s] customers in the time it takes a container to arrive from taiwan.
Cy is a businessman as well as an engineer. If he wants his business to be successful, he has to keep up with what his customers want and provide it to them.
As a 2x Cotic owner I may be biased but his bikes are lovely to ride so I kind of don't care if there's any bandwagoning going on because the results are as good as, if not better than the others...
Re bandwagon-following I also think the facts do not bear this out:
1. Soul - the first hardcore hardtail with long toptube and short rear & stem to really take off. Simple was one of the first pure singlespeeds
2. Roadrat - nothing else like it for versatility. I would say he created a market here, not followed anyone else
3. Hemlock's adjustability and mismatched travel was one of the first of its type
Dialled Bikes isn't a business, it's a hobby. I would say a labour of love, but Burgtec already use that strapline.
I never started Dialled Bikes to be a big company, and it's always been a reflection of what I enjoy doing on a bike, more than knocking out what I think will sell. I've been enjoying BMX racing and 4X over the last few years, so that's where my focus has been, as well as running 2 fairly successful teams (2 x No.1 BMX team titles in 2010 for the BC National Series and British Champs, numerous No.2 NPS 4X team rankings, still trying for the No.1).
All frames get little tweaks and evolutions with each batch, but true, I haven't brought out any new models recently as I felt the bases I wanted to cover were already covered. There's some stuff in the pipeline though - just need to get it CEN tested and do some in-the-field testing as well.
For the last 20 months, I have also been incubating a new bike company/brand which will focus purely on BMX, 4X and XC racing, no steel, initially aluminium, then possibly Ti and carbon frames if the brand grows. The name of that brand is FTB (Factory Team Bikes). The first batch of BMX race frames will arrive around April. This will allow me to design in other materials without soiling the good name of Dialled, cos we all know that steel is real ๐
As has been mentioned, 4x and BMX is what Dialled <do best>. And PAs are still brilliant allrounders, why change something that isnt broken? I`m sure therell be something, sometime, but the BMX/STAYSTRONG project seems to be taking up most of the DB time at the moment.
My Kobe is the one bike I will never sell.
Dialled = punk rock.
You're either having a laugh or you have been more sucked in by advertising than you could possibly know.brooess - Member

it was probably hearsay not traditional media based consumer incentives.
By the way, I should have made clear that I am not agreeing/accusing Cy or Brant of jumping on bandwagons, etc (as I respect what they've achieved/are trying to achieve with their respective designs/brands), but I think we all have different agendas.
I firmly believe there's enough room for all of us and each of our designs/brand ethos' have different merits. Life would be less interesting if everybody did the same thing or everybody wanted the same thing.
There's still life in Dialled Bikes, and maybe this year I will stop gallivanting around the country with my team having fun racing and actually work on some more new product.
Alpine ftw. Was thinking just today that if I had to name my favourite bike ever that would be it for shear, all out fun.
Quality stuff. The bmx side of things sounds like its going well, I dont take any interest in bmx anymore though.
I reckon you should do a hardtail for messing about on, like a Trailstar but better.
like a Trailstar but better.
Not sure if this can exist.
Although steel is real, that ti alpine is an opportunity too good to miss. Surely that will make it in to production?
What are ST towers doing with their test frame?
Testing it before sending it back to The Bike Chain. Dirt have one too.Crell - Member

Actually if the TT was slightly longer I think it would be spot on ๐

My Kobe's quietly sobbing in the garage now. Snif.
Take her for a ride and thrash the pants of her, Mogrim. That'll cheer her up ๐
It still makes me feel warm and fuzzy when I see photos of Kobes/read that people still love/cherish them almost 10 years after I designed them. It's the frame that started this journey and without it none of the BMX/4X successes would have happened as it's the frame sales that fund the team.
_tom_, the TT on the 16" Alpine Ti (if it goes into production) will probably be increased, but the 18" one probably doesn't need it as it's pretty much the same length as a 17" Prince Albert.
Looking forward to see the new BMX range.
I don't really see owning a Cotic as jumping on any bandwagon, nor Cotic jumping on a bandwagon themselves. They have great products, customer service and competitive prices. I like (as with Dialled) that you can speak to the designer. The new frames seem to be Cy's take on MTB development rather than bandwagon jumping, there's a lot of thought in the new Solaris and when Cotic try this hard at something they seem to get it right.
