Not all of them, some (e.g. Jackson) are out of position so these are good riders we're seeing getting their arses handed to them!

Few big injuries today, hope we get no more, must be running out of medics and equipment.
Fairclough REALLY isn't a decent racer. Nor is he an amazing rampage rider. He sells bikes and kit, a good ambassador for Scott and TLD but he needs to stop racing.
He won't win a medal so long as he has a hole in his backside.

Even if he doesn't win, which I don't think he will, Greenland has certainly announced himself on the senior WC scene. Awesome run.
The track may be going away from the riders now, I think he is in with a shot.

What's the format? Is there a qualifying run like World Cup races to determine the order?
UCI ranking.... No idea how that works as there are a few big name riders preceding lesser known riders down the hill...
Doesn't UCI ranking take into account other DH events, as well as the WC, including national points series? If that's the case, the top seeds in the WC won't necessarily be the top seeds at the world champs, although they usually are.
Means you can ride local events all the time and have a higher ranking than someone who consistently gets top 20 in World Cup?
Seems a bit off.
