Good riding mate is a BTK amputee..... Git is already faster than me so i don't really need him to get a bionic leg! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Great example of no such word as "can't".

Fantastic leg, but I'm not loving the 'Charlie Brown' shirt and base-ball cap combo.....kind of demeaning don't you think, especially after he's impressed us all with his DH skills!

Back to my pipe and slippers.

Different sport same inspirational attitude.

But he is cheating a bit. Think how much less weight he has to drag up using that lightweight artificial leg ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Bartlett Tendon is fantastic. A friend of ours has one and rides XC and he's amazing. It's pretty revolutionary.

It'd be cool if technical prosthetics were available via the NHS but, unless you can get your limb centre to do you a private referral, it isn't going to happen - that's how it works where my husband goes at least. Understandable I guess, their priority is getting folk moving again - it appears active sport is not a priority, which is kind of surprising. The consultant, when asked about a riding arm, suggested he should find another hobby then suggested having kids! WTF?

He's currently using a fairy experimental prosthetic riding arm created by his limb centre but as his hand, knee and ribs will attest, it's not ideal. The prosthetist is doing his best but has neither the budget nor the experience to provide anything fancier.

I have a mate who got something pretty damn similar on the NHS. Think his uses a rockshox can rather than fox though.
