Anyone kmow where I can get them? Rear hub cones are pitted and so is the freehub cup. Got a new freehub on its way but can I find the right cones anywhere??? Or will I have to buy a complete new hub?

Last lot of cones I got were from St John Street Cycles, not sure exactly which cones they are but you might be able to match them (if they're still doing them - haven't checked)

Well they've got the right cone. It's a start. Is there a compatibility chart anywhere online? Anyone? Help! Much prefer Hope Pro 2s 🙂

You could try madison.co.uk - they're the importers iirc.

If you have a look at the Shimano faqs on their website, they say you can order through your LBS, and that the exploded diag under the relevant product shows the part no. (they've got a docs archive too)
http://cycle.shimano-eu.com/publish/content/global_cycle/en/nl/index/products/mountain/deore.html

Probably:

Can't see the relevant part number on the madison site, but searching for FH-M525 comes up with the complete axle.

Aha:
http://www.shimanoservicecentre.co.uk/spares_and_support.php
- try them
(and those exploded diagrams are on there too)

My LBS phoned Madison last week for the cones for a M525 rear hub, apparently they've been discontinued!
In the end I used a cone from a 1991 Deore LX hub which was in better condition!

or ... you can buy a Deore v-brake hub (or any discounted shimano hub like LX 570/580 or XT 750/760) which is cheaper than cheap and take all the guts out of it.

I'm sure I've read it's cheaper to buy a new M525 hub as it's cheaper than the spare parts -about £9? but can't remember where from...
