Your website is very very slow. It also keeps kicking me out to a Google 'can't connect you to..' page.

It's tedious and makes me and I suspect others not want to keep trying. It also makes accesing it from a smartphone not really worth the bother.

Just saying.

Yet again the Hamster needs a prod.

Or maybe upgrading to something that can actually do the job properly?

Annoying and one of the few things that makes me think I can't be bothered waiting, so I go and look at other websites that don't stutter when they get busy.

It's a big site, it's very popular, time to live up to that?

Glad to hear that it's not just me...but it's still ****ing annoying!

I suggest repeatedly posting a thread entitled "MODS PLEASE SORT THE FORUM"

it'll just get deleted & you'll get banned. Then there will be less posting & the forum will be faster.

Winners all round?

Also running very slow for me, every other site runs OK, just STW that seems to take about 20 seconds to load.

My download speed is 18.9 megs per second?

Is that quick enough to make it the site that's slow?

On Opera here too- although I don't think it's officially supported - and not noticed any issues. None on my Blackberry either.

With all the meaningless junk posted on here we need a 'worthy' filter.

Weed out all the threads that are not worthy, then there'd be almost nothing left, and the site would rocket along. ๐Ÿ™‚

Mudpup.. You are a Premier user. Turn the ads off! The button is in your account settings.

It's not the ads though. They are served separately from the rest of the site on their own dedicated server.

I suspect that with the mag being delayed we are experiencing a lot more people downloading the digital version which is a 100mb PDF file.

As it happens though I'm waiting for a couple of prices on a new server to add to our collection because we are aware that the rate of downloads of content combined with the massive increase in user numbers we've seen over the last few months has started to send our current servers a bit red at times.

This is the spec of one of our servers...

Processor Quad Core Xeon 2.66Ghz
CPU Cores 4 CPU Cores
RAM 4GB DDR3 RAM
Hard Disk 1 x 300GB Ultra-fast SAS
Hardware Raid RAID 0
Port Speed 100Mbit

We are looking to get another one to serve purely Premier content. The way the site is being used has changed remarkably in the last few months. Sorry for the slowness but we'll have it sorted asap.
