Mmmmm? Where you thinking of going Bucko? I was thinking I might take the new hardtail out for a spin - but I am not sure yet? (and I'm not sure I need anything 'big' on the first ride out on it?)....

Was gonna take it as my rest day as I have cycled pretty much everyday for the last 3 weeks and doing a longish road ride Sunday ๐Ÿ™

We did mention the Cleave but i'm unsure about the Nutcracker in the wet. Any suggestions on where is good in the wet?

Leon, Luke will be on his 100mm hardtail single speed so i'm sure you'd be fine with wherever we go

TBH Nutcracker is well draining and solid however some of the bolders maybe a mit slippery - why not go through the traverse and up peck and down ravens then up water then out to Hound Tor (by road) - all pretty ridable there in the wet?

The only other place which is spot on in the wet is around Hennock ext for a HT but not gnarly but if you dont know you way around I might have a GPS ๐Ÿ™‚

Most of Princetown stuff is also ridable in the wet?

I can't quite get there for sat morn ๐Ÿ™
The cleave is fine in the wet, granite is grippy, only a bit of algae covered stuff may feel a little a slick, just pin the front in good and hard.

Only two trails get skittish due to the black rock, thats 'black death' and 'B2F' dropping in from water to the bridge.

All great fun on a moist bum way.

yup, everything should be fine by tomorrow, open stuff is getting a good drying off in the sun right now and with no rain forecast, the steep valleys will have time to drain off.

i'd not worry about it too much and just ride where you want.

Sharki, if you get off the forums and get peddling you'll be there in plenty o time! ๐Ÿ™‚

Where you guys starting from? If my plan to meet up with peeps on the Quantocks goes pear-shaped I could easily travel down to Dartmoor.

Cheez0, we actually don't have a plan. Lukes dog is poorly so he's not 100% sure how long he can leave him tomorrow so we may just end up with a couple hours up on Haldon, definitely not worth driving down for.

Keep an eye on this thread, i'll let you know what we decide

For anyone interested, we're planning on meeting at 1100ish at Yarner Woods carpark for a Poole around Lustleigh Cleave with a tea stop at Hound Tor. Feel free to join us.

TM, I'd love a ride on Sunday too. I'll somehow let you know for sure
