Doesn’t take away from the fact Danny is a joy to watch on a bike.
but sadly lacking when not on it from a sponsors PoV
Probably due to ....
(and I paraphrase from memory) Danny doesn’t have much else going for him other than DH; I told him you turn up to win or else what’s the point; and so on.
like what chance did he have?
arguably you need a pushy parent to get to the the top
There's being pushy, then there's just being a rude, thick arsehole
Maybe he’ll do an Atherton and be racing on ‘Paul Hart’ bikes next year?
PHART RACING ?

Hanny dart is Danny's personal Facebook page, his missus Sophie is a bit more erm Covid conspiracyesque, seems perfectly nice when I met them @ a redbull event a few years ago.
Is the situation getting to him, he seemed a bit kerfuffled speaking to Jordi on dialled, I don't think I've seen him on it before, its usually the syndicate boys being the biggest puzzlers.
If you want sponsorship money you need to pay a specialist to do your Social Media.
Warner just said he reckoned he was a going to a 'square' brand...

Where will his Dad go ?
From the Maribor thread, Warner flying around the rumour that Vergier going to Trek. I've not heard that before but very surprised (if true). Seems a done deal
Trek website says announcement in coming weeks. 3 elite riders and 1 junior.
Hope it's not like their cringey tease vid last season
So Danny to Cube, Loris to Trek and Reece to... where? Straight swap with the Syndicate perhaps?
Whatever, I hope he hadn't already signed a contract before winning the rainbow jersey.
I'm trying to remember but I can't recall anyone leaving the Syndicate for another team.? Seems like a happy, relatively low stress team environment considering. Riders seem to get plenty of time to figure out their stuff and be the best competitor they can be and don't seem to be on a yearly cycle of 'perform or you're out'.
TL:DR Seems odd Loris is leaving Santa Cruz. Think Reece would be a good fit there though.
Well, a few years ago when the BDS was a big deal and Danny hadn’t yet blown up on the WC, every time there was a race Danny would be at the venue the week before on the uplifts. Fair enough, he’s just getting as much track time as possible.
Uplift days can get pretty busy and you might find yourself standing in line or missing the occasional lift and completing less runs than normal. Unless you’ve got a visibly frustrated Paul Hart counting your runs. He marched over to a full uplift trailer and started removing the bikes of paying punters and trying to replace them with Danny’s. Cue lots of angry shouting, threats of violence and the immortal sentence “Do you know who my son is?” screamed at full volume.
Saw his dad do a similar thing at Cwmcarn back in 2018 a few days before the BDS round there. The whole car park knew about it when he tried to jump the queue and there was rumours from some of the riders that day on the uplift (I was on the regular trails) that he'd been stopping riders going down the track so that Danny could have a clear run at it. I thought it was just the normal false rumours that some bitter people make up for a laugh but after reading all the stories above and looking at a few other sites it seems to be normal! The best bit was watching Danny's dad get a parking ticket for not paying and taking up 3 spaces as a makeshift pit area.
It's true....nobody ever leaves the syndicate for another team: Rennie and Bryceland both had existential crises, Peaty? Still there
Is the rumour that its Reece who's leaving Trek ? What about the other riders?
Cube is always an uninspiring move though, just cos it's Cube

I’d not heard of Danny’s dad being a weapon till this thread, I guess to your average punter who watches the races and other coverage you dont hear these things.
Exactly this the cool kids that Danny Hart appeals to probably arent all sat around discussing what thet ate drank and listened to on a friday night.
.
I suppose its conjecture, but you or I can only guess his value to his sponsors from our point of view, Is there an army of 12 year old kids with a danny hart poster on his/her wall who thinks hes awesome? ,They probably wont stalk his dad on facebook wether he's a weapons grade dickhead or not? The yoof of today like a bit of Aggro, remember the guy from Sick bikes , proof being a dickhead can create a media following.

Nathan Rennie left to go to Morewood which didn't work out. He really didn't like it when "little Gregory" came on board with a much higher salary.
Unfortunately Morewood didn't have any money at all. No one got paid and the team folded.
Loris looks like the best long-term bet on the Syndicate, so I'd doubt he was pushed.
Unless they wanted a higher-profile rider with more wins under his belt.
Could they have Amaury or Loic lined up for next season?
On a Commencal was what I heard at Hamsterley today 🤷🏻♂️
Seems like a happy, relatively low stress team environment considering
Hmmm, I seem to remember both Greg and Josh suggesting that Roskopp isn't shy of letting the team know via text "shit-o-grams" if their results aren't to his expectations.
Riding with Phil Atwill at Cube could make sense.
Atwill could definitely benefit from being on a sexier bike brand.
I don't think it matters so much for Danny, as long as he's got a competitive bike.
Cube must have (relatively) alot of money for pro riders, as do Santa Cruz and especially trek. With Reece and Loris being recent winners Warner's words must have some credibility Shirley? I do hope Reece can stop his bell ringing enough to get his best time at Maribor 2.
I've been on a few uplifts and local races and never seen Danny's dad but had heard he's a dick, seems to be common knowledge. Danny was at Antur once, seemed sound.
Why would Santa cruz get rid of Loris, surely Luca's their weakest rider.

They wouldn't ,he's been tempted away by treks deep pockets. But Shaw will come good and once he starts winning I think he ll be a regular winner. He's been threatening to win for a few years now. I stupidly thought he'd done the winning run today until Minnaar came down
Having said that, once Pierron comes back I think the French will have a stranglehold on racing for a few seasons
Edit: that completely contradicts what I said about Luca Shaw but whatevs
French are dominant but Matt Walker & Recce will have put a rocket up some other GB riders butts, the Irish lad whose name I won’t try to spell, when might he go up to elite?
Finn Illes is another future winner. So much talent he just needs to figure out his race runs. All the young lads go through it. It took Bruni, Hart, Ratboy, Brosnan, Greenland ages to go from raw speed and fastest qualifiers to actually winning. Shaw will work it out eventually.
Gwin and Pierron are the only people that have gone on a crazy winning streak without a long, frustrating build up.
I've read the last few pages hoping that PH was going to turn up to defend himself and his son.
Disappointed.
I agree with some comments. Danny is a hard sell for the social media side of things. He doesn't come across as having much charisma. His dry sense of humour doesn't always click.
Never met him nor his old man, but was intrigued by previous comments and had a look at his old man's fb. Yeah. Not the kinda bloke you want to sit next to at the bar.
Finn Illes is another future winner.
He's great to watch on race day, love his "win at all costs or crash and burn" style
I’ve read the last few pages hoping that PH was going to turn up to defend himself and his son.
That would be gold.

I believe SC when they say they work on individual goals for individual riders. If Luca isn’t a winner at the moment that doesn’t mean they’ll want rid of him.
I doubt Loris has been given his marching orders, but I’d have guessed he’d want to join a team with his mate Bruni.
If he does go though, SC will want a Big Name rider. Minnaar will always be a contender but he’s going to retire soon, and Luca isn’t quite there yet.
That would be gold.
If only there were a place we could bring this thread to his attention...
Loris has been given his marching orders, but I’d have guessed he’d want to join a team with his mate Bruni.
He's stated previously that he didn't want to be on the same team as loic any more, iirc.
Wanted to move out of his shadow.
Just having a look on Instagram Danny has 210k followers which compares favourably with far more charismatic riders such Bryceland, Barelli and Pierron. The only riders who seem to have a much bigger following are Bruni, Gwin and Macaskill, the later having a bigger following than pinkbike.
Danny also owns a bike Park, the lads not remotely gonna be out of work. Nor should he be, he’s a world class athlete. In fact I’m sure a remember Brycelsnd getting criticised for giving up racing to concentrate on social and now we have the opposite.
Who’s gonna win tomorrow? I’m hoping for Daprela who was good to watch on redbull tv
In fact I’m sure a remember Brycelsnd getting criticised for giving up racing to concentrate on social and now we have the opposite.
I dont think it is criticism as such but just an acknowledge that being a superb rider isnt necessarily enough in this day and age.
Loris to Trek is a funny one for me as I thought that Trek had all bases covered with their current team . Even before world champs Wilson was a young rider with good prospects , Harrison is getting podiums and is American which might matter to an American brand and kade Edwards is just an unbelievably talented rider who could be at a world cup one week and rampage the next . It's true that as fans we see the syndicate as a team you wouldn't want to leave but I suppose you don't know what goes on behind closed doors.
I could see Danny at cube though , new bike for them and he's going to get you a couple of podiums at least , they've had a team for a few years now without a regular podium contender so they might see it as time to throw a bit of money at it .
Mountain biking is funny like that , in football there are very few surprises when it comes to transfers but all this stuff seems pretty secretive .
A few years back there was an article on PB about a guy who was racing all the world cups as a privateer; said it cost about £10k all in I think.
Danny seems to be about the simple life, with his camper van and doesn’t seem to have the anal set up requirements of Minaar or the need to bring 4 complete bikes with him like Gwin - so I could see him being self funded (with some minor sponsors helping out too) as a way to promote the Hart/Descend BP brand.
Simple life is all well and good, but I suspect wife and kid means he might be looking for a bit more than just paying his travel and race fee's
promote the Hart/Descend BP brand.
To an international audience? It’s a small hill in England, doesn’t really need the exposure of Whistler or the PdS

True, nobody is making an international pilgrimage To it, but promoting it to the UK audience means getting yourself on red bull TV, which for Danny means winning or at least podiuming World Cup races. One photo in an article about the BDS isn’t going to cut it.
I doubt it'll be the "Danny Hart's Descend Bike Park Hamsterley powered by Cube" team.
It'll be interesting to see if he can give Cube bikes a bit more street cred though. Saracen were already on the way up again when he joined, but you still don't see many on the trails.
Seems whoever is running the bike park FB page want to pour petrol on any currently burning bridges...
Great result today Danny despite all the negative rubbish the Madison team and especially management have thrown at you.
And now a grown up has deleted it.
Hmm, amazing if it were!
Thats exactly the phrase Danny used on wyn TV in maribor....
Danny on Orange DH 2021....
