Just watching Ed masters footage on the Tube and they keep referencing DH’s bike as not to be viewed

wondering if he has a new team and just waiting to drop the news

He's had something lined up for a while and he has the bike. He's been bombing around NZ on a Nukeproof Dissent until the announcement is made.

It was mentioned before on another video that it's borrowed from Brayton  .

Yes he could be riding a np but doubt he will get paid to ride one given the current situation with np,s owners

He's too busy smoking tabs and drinking ginger beer

I'm guessing a brand that doesn't have a DH frame ready yet so probably on another brands frame stickered up until one is ready, Nukeproof is doubtful for above reasons and surely they'd give him a bike rather than borrowing Brayton's, he's hanging out with the Pivot gang but doubt he's joining despite BK thinking about retirement soon, he'd be getting used to a Pivot already if that was the case.

So Danny is now officially on Nukeproof to replace Roman dunne

and looks like Grandad Brayton is off Nukey to another team with Mikayla Parton in

Brayton wasn't on a team was he? I thought his main sponsor was Hope who let you ride whatever frame you like.

He might have an easier time on BNC racing, whoever they are. Hopefully less work to do than flying solo all the time.

BNC have a website holding page, showing various riders in their national jerseys. Looking at the team and the contact details, I reckon it’s more a collective privateers that have grouped together. Makes good sense though, sharing travelling expenses and mechanics. UCI team gets you proper pit space in the main race area as well.

All sounds like a great idea to me... There's a few teams who do the same, Impact Racing was last year, Outlaw had a thing on VitalMTB where they were looking for riders to joing a collective type setup this year... It all makes complete sense for Privateers if they can't get a full on Pro gig.. make your own...

Gets pretty expensive to enter a team in the new setup as I understand it but maybe there's some loopholes.

Brayton’s socials have him building new Nukeproof bikes so I assume he’s still on their frames.

Jono Jones listed on that BNC team too. Makes sense as Brayton and Jono were out training together on his last VLOG.

Interesting Pagey is no longer managing the team

Different Nukeproof team? That was the Nukeproof SRAM. Hart/Dunne are/were on nukeproof continental. I think they're separate.

Pagey was the boss of the Nukeproof 'factory' team supported by CRC. Not sure what's going on with that lot yet. They'd gone full Enduro and now all the riders have been dropped except Sam Hill who may or may not be retired.

Continental is an independent entity. They could switch frames if Nukeproof go belly up.

As long as they've got spares/frames etc, they don't necessarily need to swap frames even if NP went pear shaped, you can still race the bike even if the company go..

Good to see Jamie Edmondson has a seat at BNC - I assume a collective of privateers?

Well yeah, I don't expect their bikes to turn to dust if Nukeproof close down. But there's not much point being affiliated with a defunct manufacturer long term.

I think it's much more likely that someone will purchase Nukeproof and they'll continue outside the Chiggle empire.

If BNC is a collection of privateers on a 'team' ,  does this circumnavigate the points issue Brayton had last year?

Assuming they pay their £20k which as it's announced as a uci team, I assume they have.then yes he/they can be allowed to try to race all events.
Getting into whatever qualification limit it is this year, that's a different thing

I think at least one person named on the team must have enough points (60?) , so it's not just a case of stumping up the cash and getting weeksy entered, before we start a whip round for next year.

Fixed to debunk a popular myth. You don't have to pay "elite" team fees to race WC

Can you explain? What does Elite give you then?

Your name in bright lights, entries across several disciplines and a paddock big enough for an 18 wheeler closer to the lift/ finish line than the great unwashed.

I assume Mikayla Parton would be a top tier rider

mate they all on their own bikes/sponsors and riding under a banner so to speak

Sorry, I don't understand what you're getting at. You can stump up 11 grand if you want the prime DH only paddock space, but if you're a collective of riders without large company backing, you'd probably paying the minimum, unless there's family money/ a benevolent philanthropist helping you out.

You ever met any young downhill racers? They may plead poverty and live the insta-friendly dirtbag lifestyle but they don't have the same financial limitations as most of us. Not when a top up is only a phonecall away.

Just my personal experience obviously.

Ha, you're not wrong there. I do know some exceptions, but they're few and far between.

I hate to say it, but I called it.

www.pinkbike.com/news/continental-nukeproof-factory-racing-looks-to-be-signing-new-bike-sponsor

Looks like Nukeproof as we know it is gone. I thought they'd continue in some form until they found a buyer but unfortunately that buyer was Mike Ashley and he's tanked it.

It's not a shock, although i couldn't see any reason they couldn't stay on the Nukeproof even if it's folded, just dropping the name. But i guess that's not professional enough.

Hopefully they've picked up a decent frame for 2024.

Because there's no one there to pay the invoice from the team.

Yeah they're not just getting free frames. There'll be a chunk of cash changing hands to be the title sponsor of the team and hopefully selling a tonne of bikes off the back of it.

Mike Ashley probably doesn't follow DH racing so he won't be bothered.

He looked fast on the GT in the queue at Dyfi Sunday. Unfortunately just missed out on being in the same landy on the way up...

Its a real shame to see that the team won't still be on Nukeproof frames as I would have paid to see Danny Hart's Dad vs Mike Ashley in a dust up for the remaining cash. We all know how much of a shy and retiring bloke he is

I seriously doubt you missed anything. He's not Steven Fry.
