Hi all. Planning on a bikepacking trip from Richmond park to North Devon. Thames to reading then the kennot and Avon canal to bath. After that unsure. Any tips on campsites and route advice much appreciated 👍🏻

That sounds like a lovely route.

I'm a big fan of

You could do worse than putting your journey points in and setting the route type to 'gravel' for a pretty decent starting point. It also has some suggested campsites/stopovers - I haven't tried any but they should all be bike friendly at least....

Shout out for warm showers.orgย  . You can stay with other cycle tourists (for free), and it's good to meet people and talk about routes .

Otherwise I'd recommend after bath do the bath Bristol cycle path, then outbid Bristol to the strawberry line, then across the Somerset levels. You can then join the old great western canal for a further bit

As part of my Jogle a few years ago we did bath, bristol, glasto, taunton, Tiverton, Okehampton on quiet lanes and towpaths.

From Okehampton (or just before) you could easily cut across to join the Tarka trail to Braunton.

PM me your email/number and I can send the gpx
