M&S if you can change your home contents insurance, or if you can't get M&S, MoreThan allow you to add high value bikes for a "reasonable" amount (I had a £5k insured value for about £200 per year).

Failing that, I also use ETA (specialist bike insurance). They are not cheap, and will only cover up to £4k, but it's a very comprehensive service. Good to deal with too.

Halifax for me. Home contents + £6K of bikes locked in the garage for £23/month.

@ The Flying Ox How did you get this?
I have just spoken to Halifax and they only cover bikes up to £500 each, even as an individually named item.

M&S won't insure me, even just for contents, as the house in timber-framed (which all of the new houses are in this part of Scotland).

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Try Protect my Bubble. I'm thinking of going with them because they cover some things other a lot of other insurers don't, such as the bike being on a roof/bike rack.

Bike Radar have some insurance offer on their site. Haven't looked into it properly but looks like about £5/month/bike including a sort of extended warranty thing.

I need to look into it properly as none of my bikes are insured in any way shape or form and contents insurance is kinda awkward as it's a shared flat.

If it covered the bikes abroad too it would be even better as it would mean travel insurance was easier/cheaper.

Well. I've just spent 30 minutes on the phone to a lovely lady from the AA and I am insured. Bikes listed as individual items and covered for accidental damage away from the home.

As a PSA, the timber framed houses common in Scotland nowadays are considered a "standard construction" by the AA so they should be covered with no problems.

M&S cover Brick/Timber framed houses, your post got me worried so I just checked. They just don't cover timber only construction.
