On my winter road bike I have an FSA road stem and a K-Force carbon seat post that would look lovely on my cx bike.

How many of you run with carbon posts and stems and are they strong enough to take the battering?

Forgive my stupidity, but is carbon stuff mtb, road, cx specific?

Thanks as always,

MM.

I have a carbon seatpost on mine - just like I have on my MTBs. It would never occur to me that it wouldn't be "strong" enough

Depends what you're using it for I'd say. I'm not sure I'd use a lightweight carbon post for a bike I was actually racing 'cross on - a lot more hard landings on the saddle as you remount on the move more. Saying that the FSA one is hardly featherweight and yes I probably would use it.

If it's just a bike you pootle around the countryside on then I'd not think twice, in fact I did have one!

Predominantly a race bike and my pootles are generally as fast as I can ride.

Don't really fancy carbon shards up by backside.

Carbon bars, stem, seatpin (all Ritchey), and forks - 4 years race only use.
Worried? No.
