[Closed] cut away saddles that are kind on Gentleman bits

Wow, the Bontrager Aeulus feels.. weird!

I could see how it would be comfortable but it seems a bit 'all or nothing', basically holds you in one position.

Will persevere but perhaps I'm just not suited to wave shaped saddles any more, once you get used to a flat Selle Italia Flite the 'cup' shape of the Aeolus just seems restrictive...

Anyone know how 'unconditional' the comfort guarantee is? The black paint on the rails is already coming off which feels like a cheap trick to play, certainly can't claim it's unridden now...

Meanwhile, have a demo ISM on order, might look funky but right now I just want to be putting in the miles so don't want any distractions from down below!

Twisty has a bag of 10 saddles.
Don't be like Twisty, use the try before you buy schemes from local shops rather than buying lots of saddles.

Now i'm playing around with saddles, i think the all or nothing suits me better than the flatter profile

I'm now on this --> https://www.wiggle.co.uk/selle-italia-x-lr-tm-air-cross-superflow-saddle?utm_source=order-placed-sg01-gb&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=orders&utm_content=product

it's definitely made most of the discomfort (willy numbness!) go away but just doesn't feel as comfortable, is this a price to pay?

Quite! If I decide I don't get on with the saddle above... we should set up an STW multi coloured swap shop 🙂

I didn’t know there were instructions 🙂

There's a tiny folded up paper instruction hidden behind the plastic clip plate thing on the rear, I only noticed it when I went to bin the packaging...perhaps not so clever given the rest of the marketing gummmf adorning the front - I guess probably an afterthought. The advice seems to be spot on though.

I take it back, first ride on the Aeolus, positive results so far. Have it set up 3cm further back than my normal saddle. Seems supportive and comfortable with no twinges from the misbehaving 'lad' down below.

Wondering if it has damaged my shorts though, seams were worn through on one side! Assuming it had already happened and I just hadn't noticed...
