[Closed] Custom paint job on on-one raw frame.

Has anyone done this? Would I need to have the clear coat fully removed before applying my own (possible strange) design to this frame or could I in fact spray or somehow apply the design over the coat.

What am I thinking? This kind of thing but obviously different.

looks good!
you could do a vinyl wrap, as on the bike that won the coveted, ugliest disc braked bike award.
or you can strip it off, paint a base (white) mask it, paint it black.
It's a lot of work, but just go for it.

doing my own masking, I got the artists curve tape, makes things much easier.

There's a good Giant Trance on this forum that was coated white, then an artist did black doodles, then clear coat over the top.
Looks great imo.
