Il before I hit go is there anything I'm missing from my order?

72kg. 457 spring ok?

The frame currently has 10% off and that kinda means the Öhlins air shock is "free" (in my head at least). Thinking I'll use the coil in the parks and the air shock for big pedally rides.

Going to use the XT mech, XTR shifter and 165 SLX cranks from my current Strive (checked the BB width and they're the same). Will buy a new set of brakes as the current XTs are well used and abused.

i assume the axle etc are just spares to keep in the tool box?

Otherwise looks good.

I run mine with a RS coil shock. Sometimes fancy trying an air shock, but its just so good as is!

Enjoy 🙂

Noy going for UDH (plus hanger for XT)? I have a V2.2 and made the mod to UDH (though still with hanger for normal mech) the UDH system / axle is easier to use that the propriety raaw one, yes you loose the chainstay adjust, bit it does not come loose and is also creak free. Def worth getting some spares at time of order as expensive to order little parts from them. I have the Ohlins air and works very well.

oh raaw's own mech hanger are a little soft, even their newer 7075 one (not tried a steel one). again was another reason to go UDH.

Ordered.

Have included the bits kit or whatever they call it which includes a spare mech hanger. Although I'm sure somewhere I saw steel versions being sold.

Cheers boys!

Can't wait for the NBD post on this one. Been having seriously unwholesome thoughts about the Madonna.

Me too, lads.... Me too.

Need to order some brakes and rotors for it.... Still ummming and ahhhhing as to what I'll buy. Maybe play it safe and go XT. Or Cura 4s....

There will probably be some random thing I've not thought about and it'll be weeks till I can get the part because of the baby Jesus birthday madness.

Just to help build the anticipation, left my eeb at home today and took my uplift bike out for a proper pedal.

Sorry for the thread hijack, I've been looking at the Raaw bikes website myself recently (at the Jibb LT specifically).

I've been looking at something a little shorter travel than my current 160f/155r full suspension Airdrop for a bit more pop and lively feeling on the less chunky stuff. Any reason to go for the Madonna over the Jibb?

If you want something light and lively with 'pop' I think you're looking at the wrong manufacturer entirely.

The Jibb is a fast, agressive trail bike with the wrong name and they build up quite heavy. I rode one in Malaga on very rough trails when I had my Privateer 141 and they were very comparable in a kind of trail-bike-on-roids fashion.

My Airdrop Edit MX is 170/167 and feels like a BMX compared to the Madonna I've ridden.

They're both excellent bikes but they're definitely not light and lively. They're awesome for ploughing chunky trails.

Struggling to think of anything livelier than an Airdrop in that category but I haven't ridden everything. Maybe a Bronson V4?

Fast and aggressive with slightly less (rear) travel than I've got now does seem appealing. What is the situation like ordering from Raaw directly, is there +24% import duties to pay on arrival to the UK?

I sat on a mates Santa Cruz VPP bike (Hightower, maybe?) recently and it was really nice, plush and like you say quite 'poppy', so certainly something to think about. Bike would mainly be used for big days out pedalling, uplift days, riding holidays abroad as well as general trail duties.

I prefer to think of it as the pagan piss up for the winter solstice 😆

Yes, VAT, import duty & handling fees.

If you are after a large, I have a V2 Jibb LT in silver I need to put up for sale shortly.

@HobNob that makes them quite spendy! Unfortunately a Large would be too small for me, otherwise I'd possibly take you up on that!
