Excellent thanks for the update
love my glowworms . so does my daughter who nicks them off me when she comes out nightriding
I have a mate who has a loudspeaker business and he is very poor at answering communications through social media.
For a small busy company the time taken up answering queries on social media is very disruptive.
If Danny is still reading he should post statuses much more often on his webpage, which would be a minimal way of keeping people much more happy.
a classifieds seller behaving in the same way would have been pitchforked and flamed a long time ago...
I really rate the performance and packaging of my X2's but I'll probably be looking elsewhere when the time comes to replace them.
Massive fan of the Gloworm X2. Great light.
Have to say that Danny was very helpful and responsive when I bought them last year and several other people raved about his prompt service at the time. (STW discount was nice too!)
I suspect he has become a victim of his own success.
Hate to be a fanboi but there have been a couple of times that I've had to contact Danny and his replies and subsequent action have been beyond rapid. I lost the charger extension cable and had a new one on my doorstep within 20 hours of emailing, foc!
Thanks for the positive reports, apologies for the less so ones lol.
I'll still be selling Gloworm in the New Year but distribution will be switching to a large company. I simply was struggling to keep on top of everything myself. Warranty will be handled by them from 1st January, phew!
I have plenty of stock now at last and the STW discount is still in place.
Good man Danny, thanks for the update.
Thanks for the update Danny,
Which of the distributors got their mitts on gloworm in the end then?
Glad you are still selling them though! Well done.
JC
who will distribute?
I think an announcement will be made in due course as to who is taking over. I don't want to jump the gun lol.
My nice new shiny x1 arrived today, looks like a lovely bit of kit and bright too (a lot brighter than the ayup it's replacing).
Just on charge for tomorrow night's ride 🙂
My X2 was delivered today and managed to make contact via e-mail, thanks Danny
distribution will be switching to a large company
And the winner is...

Hi Danny
I didn't want to have to contact you via this forum again but I have had no reply to the multiple emails email’s I have sent or via the phone.
Any chance of letting me know what’s happening with the battery I sent you on the 7th of November.
Regards
Andy
Andysredmini at Hotmail dot com
ive given up with danny now, he was great, an absolute graet guy to deal with over a year ago, I had numnerous issues with my lights which he sorted
ive got a x1 that's a year old and does not work, ive tried and tried to contact but had no reply, I sent a battery back in decemeber and had no response and at the mo have no use of the light at all
so I went and bought exposure, lesson learnt!
if anyone wants to buy a cheap x1 helmet light, Im pretty sure its the switch itself gone, as the battery still worked on my other light, you may have to try fix it yourself but willing to sell very cheap!
I put off and putt off trying to make contact via the forum as it doesn't help with promoting a good company image that you are completely unobtainable via phone and email.
I don’t do twitter and face book and don’t believe I should have to to get a reply.
I was initially amazed by the outstanding customer service I received. My first light came with a faulty switch. I called and next day had a replacement through the post.
I understand certain things have gone on but I believe 2 months Is long enough to wait patiently. I haven’t wanted to get arsey and have never demanded anything but I'm getting fed up now of setting off on night rides leaving my headlight behind. Now the (slightly) lighter nights are on the way it won’t be long before they are put away for the summer.
I don't think hes actually a distributing them anymore, so Id guess that's why hes not really interested in sorting out the issues, guess he took on to much, or had to much warranty work with them
they are good lights, the quality/build of them leaves a lot to be desired mind
I still think the lights are brilliant. Originally they seemed to me top quality but mid-priced. Even after having a couple of problems I still really rate the light I think I just had one from a faulty batch with the faulty switch and full unlucky with the battery.
When originally purchasing I wasn't prepared to burn by house down and kill my family by buying Chinese tat but couldn't justify the output vs cost of exposure against other models.
Enter the gloworm falling toward the top end of the middle ground.
I still use a 6 year old exposure enduro which has been excellent and I'm half wishing I had bought one of their newer offerings.
Oscillate - I might be interested in your X1. Email in profile.
From above
I simply was struggling to keep on top of everything myself. Warranty will be handled by them from 1st January, phew!
If I were you I'd give Ison a call and see what they suggest. Good luck!
http://www.ison-distribution.com/english/contact.php
Do you think they will be interested?
I had thought of trying them but seeing how CRG have my existing battery I didn't think they would want to know.
jambo email sent bud
Worth a call to them or Gloworm direct just to explain and see what they can suggest if you are not getting a response from CRG, at least they might have a contact him for you or a way to help you and help the brand they are promoting.
Ill give Ison a call as soon as possible and report back.
Hopefully CRG will read this thread and send me mine back though.
Update:
I rang Ison who were helpful but understandably at this stage cant do anything.
They asked me to contact Gloworm direct and ask them to give authorisation to Ison to supply me with a new battery. I sent an email on Friday to gloworm who haven't replied yet but it has only been a few days including a weekend.
I have sent another email to Danny at CRG and tried to ring but the phone goes to answer machine and emails are not replied to.
I just wonder how CRG are getting on selling/supporting the other products on their web site of if they have given up on those too.
If I'm honest I'm really annoyed now. I was patient for 2 months but I cant see this being resolved quickly.
bought another gloworm last week from crgmoto and received today no probs
So they are still taking orders?
My light head arrived scratched and damaged about one and a half months ago so I emailed Danny at CRG Moto and he said "No problem i'll send you a replacement light head tomorrow" unfortunately a month and half later I've still not received it? I've emailed Danny numerous times and got no reply and so instead have been forced to post on this forum. From what iv'e heard Danny in the past has had excellent customer service but from what iv'e experienced with the lack of contact and no answer's as to whats happening with the company etc im sad to say its been terrible.
If anyone can throw any to light(no pun intended) onto the matter of me getting a replacement light head please share. And also in future who am i to deal with if lets say my battery needed replacing etc?
andysredmini - Did you get anywhere with Ison/Gloworm. I am in a similar situation. Switch broke on my X2 and Danny at CRG Moto said to send the light unit back and he'd exchange it. Now been waiting nearly 3 weeks. No reponse to emails for 2 weeks and can't get through on the phone. Have emeailed Gloworm but no response yet. Emailed Ison yesterday but don't hold much hope seeing I am no longer in possession of the old light unit. Such a shame. It was a great product but let down terribly by the after-service.
Did you see this thread? ... hmmm actually probably not that helpful
lordlamb
I contacted gloworm direct in New Zealand. Bruce (from the thread linked above) arranged for a distribute in America to send me one. He seemed surprised what was going on at CRG when I sent him the link to these threads.
Once Bruce was on the case the battery was send straight away so cant really ask for better.
I wouldn't let this put anyone off gloworm lights. The lights are amazing quality for a good price and now ison are the distributor hopefully there should be no more problems.
Andysredmini - Great stuff. Glad you've been sorted out.
I've previously emailed Bruce and have yet to received a reply. I've messaged him in that other thread so hopefully he'll get back to me and sort me out too! Thank God for the internet!
Thanks for the heads-up too z1ppy.
Just to let you guys know that yes: they are still taking orders.
And unfortunately their customer service doesn't seem to have improved. Ordered £200 worth of stuff off them in January, and of course my bank account was debited immediately.
Since then I have not had any correspondence one way or another. No response to emails, the phone rings out and you can't leave a message.
Not really sure how to progress from here?
How did anyone here manage to get a response?
How did anyone here manage to get a response?
Managed to get a paypal refund and bought stuff elsewhere...

I've been selling Gloworm lights (well trying to) for over 12 months in my shop. To say that I'm happy about Ison taking distribution off CRG is an understatement!
I've met Danny from CRG, he's a nice guy, but there's only so many unanswered emails, calls, failed orders and broken promises I can take!
The Gloworm lights are fantastic though, awesome bits of kit. Fair to say that the beam patterns are as good as it gets, and the lumen ratings are on the conservative side when compared to the competition! Also, having met Bruce the other week, he really is a properly nice guy. A real "bloke in a shed managed to turn it into a full time job" kinda guy (Troutie take note!), and he's passionate about what he does, and was very keen to hear my feedback from having used and sold the lights...
As to what to do next? What card did you pay on? If Credit Card, just call the CC company, if Debit, ask your bank what they can do. If you paid by PayPal, just raise a dispute...
Once you've got your money back, find your local Gloworm re-seller. Ison are putting together a bit of a network, but they'll be working with selected shops. I'd be happy to help out if you're anywhere near me, or could pop one in the post to you if you can wait til Ison have fresh stock in (all I've got is an X1 left right now)...
unfortunately my order was for CRG gear, rather than the glow worm lights, otherwise I am sure I would have come across this thread while doing research prior to purchase and stayed clear of CRGmoto.
I think it is quite telling that when you search "CRGmoto customer service" on Google this thread comes up pretty well at the top.
It is a real shame, because CRGmoto seem to have been great in the past and things have slipped a long way from that high benchmark.
The thing is I don't even mind if the delivery will take weeks because of stocking issues, I just want to know that up front when making my purchase.
Can't recall when I placed my order for some gloworm lights but it was good few weeks ago now!
I've had to do all the leg work, trying to contact CRG to find out about the order, to no avail. I even found this thread when I was searching for alternative contacts & managed to message Danny via his email on here... To be fair he came back to me quickly after that, but it was with lies. He stated that the lights had been posted many Fridays ago now and I should have them early the following week. Success I thought...
Nothing turned up. Emailed all emails I had & phoned again, no response. Shower of utter rubbish.
Luckily, I paid by PayPal and with a credit card. Double protection!
Still awaiting dispute resolution through PayPal - it was opened & then PayPal gave CRG 14 days to respond (which is up on the 22nd Feb - I'm surprised CRG even bothered to reply as they haven't to any other message I sent formally to them, other than the email stating lies).
Just had an email from PayPal to say a response has been lodged. Claiming the lights have been sent out 'TODAY' using a next day courier... Alas, the tracking number is not working & unfortunately it would seem, neither is CRG.
Talk about a poor show.
I cannot wait to sack this off & get a refund, then I'll just get some Gemini lights - better burn time too!
I did phone Ison & they were helpful but obviously couldn't do anything. I did manage to confirm with Ison that the warranty was going to be honoured from CRG if anything did turn up. Alas, nothing has yet. Even if it did now, I wouldn't want it so I hope for Danny's sake he's not wasted his time sending me a light as it won't be being delivered, but refused & returned at point of delivery under his expense.
Wait for Ison to have stock (they claimed by the end of Feb they would be up and running distributing to stockists) and don't use CRG unfortunately as you just end up with 'hassle you don't need'.
Cheers.
Sorry to hear that you are another victim of CRG customer service, pretty stressful and very annoying isn't it. Danny has vanished as far as our experience goes - no reply to multiple warranty requests.
The good news is that ISON contacted me yesterday about my warranty (on items my wife bought me from CRG, then waited 6 weeks to get anything, and a further 4 since asking about warranty with no reply from CRG). New light arrived at 10am this morning, without me sending my old one back yet. Just need to return it when I can, so great service there and good news. If you do decide to stick with Gloworm then at least you know you'll get good service from ISON, who now appear have stock of quite a few lines and can supply through your local shop.
I cannot wait to sack this off & get a refund, then I'll just get some Gemini lights - better burn time too!
Both are fully programmable from 10-100% power, so you can choose your burn times to suit. The Gloworm has slightly higher capacity cells (2900mah versus 2600mah), so should in theory last a little longer for a given output.
Both are great lights to be fair. Having used both I slightly prefer the Gloworm, but you'd be happy with either.
Ison, to be fair, still don't yet have much stock (I've got a few on order myself for my shop), but they are expecting any day now so find your local Gloworm dealer and get them to get one in for you...
Thanks - but no. Never again will I give Gloworm a chance. It isn't Gloworm as such but at some point someone decided it was a good idea for CRG to attempt to supply the UK.
I just want, rather than would like, my money returning & I'll get something like a Gemini or I may even now keep my money & await the 2016 range as it's getting lighter naturally now!
To discuss the point mboy, I was under the impression that the 4 cell gloworm x2 was 2.5 hours at max burn time & the Gemini was 3 hours at max. Now, to me, fully programmable means nothing. 100% is 100% - as such 2.5 hours against 3 hours is the claimed specs is it not?
Can you confirm if you've had experience of both?
Gemini comes with more extras like head walking support belt whereas Gloworm you have to buy, albeit only around £12, but every little helps!
Just checked & Gemini claim 1500 lumens, 4 cell at 3 hours?
http://gemini-lights.com/products/duo
From what I read before choosing, the Gloworm handles heat better and is driven at higher amps, so while both the X2 and Duo are twin XML U2 LEDs, Gloworm test near to or above the claimed lumens at around 1500 where the Gemini falls short at more like 1200.
Gloworm at 90% is 1350 lumens and 3.25hrs and 80% is 1200 lumens or 4 hours claimed. This makes more sense as the pack is 2900mah compared to 2600mah.
Lumens:
http://reviews.mtbr.com/review-gemini-lights-duo-1500
1200 is still loads, especially with 950 or so on the lid!
ill I give Gloworm a chance. It isn't Gloworm as such but at some point someone decided it was a good idea for CRG to attempt to supply the UK.
I'd argue that it's pretty unfair to judge the company by the Distributor that was distributing its products. At least given that Gloworm had no UK agent until CRG, so it was a case of "any route to market to begin" most likely.
As it is, you'd find Bruce from Gloworm is a lot like Troutie, only he's managed to turn it into a day job. Very enthusiastic about what he does.
What I said was that for a given output, the Gloworm will last longer. At 100% power the X2 is delivering on its stated claim of 1500 Lumens, but good as the Gemini is, it's been tested at around 1200 Lumens at full power. So the X2 at 80% is chucking out the same Lumen count as the Gemini at 100%. In which case, you will then get slightly better battery life out of the Gloworm for a given output... As I said before. Don't believe the manufacturers Lumen claims, some are dead accurate, some are wildly inaccurate. Gemini over egg the pudding slightly (not as much as most), but it's still a very good light. Just that I believe, having used them both before, the Gloworm is ever so slightly better.
Mboy - I see from the other thread that your shop stocks Gloworm? Could you post the shop details (here or by PM) please so I can order some bits and pieces I need?
