Anyone had wheels built by CRC and how good were they, did they stay true etc thanks
Yeah, I've got a couple of Hope Pro2s on XM819s, no complaints at all, although I suspect they'll have more than one wheelbuilder.
Cant fault mine though...well built and no 'pinging' on the first ride so they've been properly de-stressed after the build
thats the combination i am going for
+1 on what 1nten5e said
I've had a couple of sets done over the years and they've always been good
No doubt someone will be along to tell you how sh!te they are
+1 on Handyman. Pro 2/819 with nipple and spoke upgrade for me. Bought in Jan, been ridden hard all year and haven't touched them. Still tight and true
They don't line up the logos on the hub with the valve hole...FAIL!

823 on ProII front a while ago. Been perfect.
Had a few sets & all been fine...
Only 1 experience with a friend's wheel. Every single spoke was loose! They'd obviously missed out a step. We're in Spain so it wasn't worth returning but I'm sure that they would have sorted it out if it was returned to them. Just unlucky I guess.
I've had a set built by CRC with no issues.
18 months on no issues, no truing either(!). V.good.
I have had a set - no probs at all.
Received a wheel this morning, perfectly true, quality seems top notch, and they even lined up the valve hole with the logo on the hub! ๐
Had CRC wheels before with no issues, Merlin have also been very good.
6 years on a set and I've not needed to true them once.
I got a set of 24" for my sons 4X bike, no problems at all except for the Gorilla that installed the cassette on them ๐
And the cassette wasn't bought for those wheels - took 2 of us, a large vice and a 3 foot bar to shift it...
Go on then I'll put a downer on 'em!
Recently got a front pro11 on 823, not impressed at all! It was perfectly true and nicely dished but the spoke tension was truly pathetic! There's not a chance I would have felt safe riding it, adequate spoken tension is without doubt the most important thing IMO. Nothing to worry about if you always check your own wheels but something to be aware of. To be fair you can barely get the parts for the price CRC charge for a full build so....
